Price estimate
We do not have a price for the LICO LND-42AY that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The LICO LND-42AY is a single-spindle CNC turret lathe with a Y-axis slide and a live tool turret, built for bar up to 42 mm (1.7 in). LICO describes the LND-AY series as a machine for turn-mill work, and the Y axis is what separates it from a plain two-axis bar lathe: ±55 mm (±2.2 in), 110 mm (4.3 in) of travel across the spindle centreline.
That Y stroke is long for a lathe of this size. Together with 150 mm (5.9 in) of X and 300 mm (11.8 in) of Z, it lets a driven tool mill flats, cut off-centre holes and work keyways without a second setup. The spindle brake and dividing system is on the standard equipment list. Y is driven by a 1.48 kW (2.0 hp) servo, X and Z by 2.29 kW (3.1 hp) units.
Two turrets are named in the table. The 12-station turret is identified as a BARUFFALDI S12LT and the standard equipment list includes a tool turret with 12 stations and tool holders; the 8-station LICO S8LT appears under optional accessories. Travels are the same with either. Shanks are Ø25 mm round or □20 mm square.
The spindle is rated 9 kW (12.1 hp) and 5,000 rpm, with an ISO A2-5 nose and an F48 collet chuck as standard. A 6 in hollow power chuck is optional and raises the turning diameter to 165 mm (6.5 in), at a turning length of 280 mm (11 in). A parts catcher, a parts conveyor and an automatic bar feeder interface are standard. The hydraulic tailstock is an option.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Y-axis travel of ±55 mm (±2.2 in), 110 mm (4.3 in), for off-centre milling and drilling with live tools
- A tool turret with 12 stations and tool holders is standard equipment
- 5,000 rpm spindle with a 53 mm (2.1 in) through hole on an ISO A2-5 nose
- Parts catcher, parts conveyor and automatic bar feeder interface are standard
- Turning length of 300 mm (11.8 in) with the collet chuck
Limitations
- Spindle motor is 9 kW (12.1 hp), which limits heavy roughing in steel
- No sub-spindle appears in the table or the equipment lists, so the cut-off side needs a second operation
- The hydraulic tailstock, the 6 in hollow power chuck and the chip conveyor with cart are optional accessories
- LICO's table gives no torque figure for the spindle or the live tools
