Overview
With the Accuway UT-400LX2 the heavy UT-400 headstock gets a 2,200 mm (86.6 in) Z travel. Maximum turning length is 2,080 mm (81.9 in) and maximum turning diameter 700 mm (27.6 in).
A two-metre part 700 mm across can weigh several tonnes, so the supporting figures count for more than the travels. The tailstock quill is 160 mm (6.3 in) in diameter on an MT#6 taper, and its body can be placed anywhere over 2,050 mm (80.7 in). Swing over the saddle is 745 mm (29.3 in). The machine itself is listed at 17,500 kg (38,580 lb).
That weight row is worth a second look. It is higher than the 17,000 kg (37,478 lb) given for the longer UT-400LX3, which is not what one expects of a shorter bed. Both figures are reproduced as the maker prints them. For foundation design, ask Accuway for a confirmed weight.
Z rapid traverse is 15 m/min (591 in/min). The spindle has 30/37 kW (40.2/49.6 hp) through a 2-step gearbox and is offered in four sizes, from an A2-11 nose with a 131 mm (5.2 in) bore and 2,000 rpm to an A2-15 nose with a 258 mm (10.2 in) bore, a 24 in chuck and 800 rpm. Twelve BOT stations hold 32 mm (1.3 in) square and 50 mm (2.0 in) round tools. The APT 60 power turret and a steady rest are optional accessories.
