Overview
The long-bed Accuway UT-200L turns shafts up to 1,000 mm (39.4 in) between chuck and tailstock. Z-axis travel is 1,050 mm (41.3 in) and the tailstock body travels 1,045 mm (41.1 in), so the centre can follow a workpiece of almost any length the bed allows.
In section it is the UT-200. Swing over bed is 505 mm (19.9 in), swing over saddle 318 mm (12.5 in), maximum turning diameter 300 mm (11.8 in) and X travel 220 mm (8.7 in), on box guideways. The extra bed adds weight and floor length: 4,700 kg (10,362 lb) and 3.7 m, against 3,600 kg (7,937 lb) for the UT-200.
Slender shafts are the usual work for a bed this long, and the tailstock figures matter for them. The quill is 75 mm (3.0 in) in diameter with an MT#4 taper and 80 mm (3.1 in) of travel. No steady rest appears in the options list for this model, so very thin shafts need their support discussed with Accuway.
The spindle is offered in four columns, from an A2-5 nose at 6,000 rpm with a 6 in chuck to an A2-8 nose at 3,500 rpm with a 10 in chuck and 75 mm (3.0 in) of bar capacity. In that last column the turning length is 920 mm (36.2 in). Power is 11/15 kW (14.8/20.1 hp). The BOT turret has 8, 10 or 12 stations according to the column.
