Overview
Think of a pump shaft with a keyway at one end and a drilled cross hole at the other. The Accuway UT-300LM is built for that part: a 1,250 mm (49.2 in) Z travel, a tailstock, and a 12-station BMT/VDI turret with rotary tools at 4,000 rpm.
Turning length is 1,040 mm (40.9 in) with an A2-8 spindle and 960 mm (37.8 in) with A2-11. Those figures are shorter than the UT-300L's 1,180 mm (46.5 in), because the driven turret takes room along Z as well as across the bed. Maximum turning diameter is 420 mm (16.5 in).
The rotary tool motor is rated 3.7/5.5 kW (5.0/7.4 hp). That suits keyways, wrench flats, drilled and tapped holes. Heavy slotting in steel will be slow, and without a Y axis every milled feature sits on the spindle centreline. With the tailstock engaged, its body having 1,040 mm (40.9 in) of travel, a shaft can be held at both ends while the keyway is cut.
Underneath it is the same machine as the UT-300L: box guideways, 6,000 kg (13,228 lb), a 15/18.5 kW (20.1/24.8 hp) spindle motor and rapids of 20 m/min (787 in/min) in X and 24 m/min (945 in/min) in Z. Height rises slightly to 1.9 m. The rotary tool holders, 0 degree and 90 degree, are named for the UT-300LM under optional accessories.
