Overview

The Accuway UM-210 is the largest vertical machining center on the maker's product list: 2,100 mm (82.7 in) of X travel, 850 mm (33.5 in) of Y and 850 mm (33.5 in) of Z, with a 2,200 x 980 mm (86.6 x 38.6 in) table that carries 2,500 kg (5,511 lb). Net weight is 17,000 kg (37,478 lb).

It is also the only one with a bigger spindle motor. The row reads 22/26 kW (29.5/34.9 hp), continuous and 30 min, where the UM-160 and the smaller BT-50 models list 15/18.5 kW (20.1/24.8 hp). Power goes through a 2-step gearbox to a BT50 spindle at up to 6,000 rpm. For a machine meant to take long, heavy workpieces, that pairing gives the low-speed torque that large-diameter cutters need.

Structure follows the UM-160. Guideways are Box, ball screws are 50/50/50 mm (2.0/2.0/2.0 in), feed motors are 4/4/7 kW and rapid traverse is 15 m/min (591 in/min). The table has 8 T-slots, 18 mm wide at a 120 mm pitch. Between spindle nose and table there is 150~1,000 mm (5.9~39.4 in).

A part two metres long takes time to cross at that rapid rate, so the machine rewards long cuts over scattered small features. Tools are limited to 300 mm (11.8 in) in length and 15 kg (33 lb). Plan for 5.4 x 3.9 m of floor, 3.0 m of height, and rigging for the weight.
