Overview

The Accuway UM-130 is where the BT40 line stops bracketing its bigger motor and makes it the listed one. Spindle power is 15/18.5 kW (20.1/24.8 hp), continuous and 30 min, the axis feed motors are 4/4/7 kW, and the guideway bearings are Roller. Travels are 1,300 mm (51.2 in) in X, 650 mm (25.6 in) in Y and 550 mm (21.7 in) in Z.

Put beside the UM-120, the differences are consistent. The UM-120 lists 7.5/11 kW (10.1/14.8 hp) and ball guideways. The UM-130 has the longer X, a 1,500 x 650 mm (59.1 x 25.6 in) table and a 1,500 kg (3,307 lb) load, and weighs 8,000 kg (17,637 lb). Its Z is the shorter of the two.

The table is longer than the X stroke. Parts longer than 1,300 mm can sit on it, but the ends are out of reach without repositioning.

Speed is 10,000 rpm, with 12,000 rpm in brackets and a Belt (Direct) drive row. At 18.5 kW on the 30 min rating, a BT40 spindle is close to what the taper is normally asked to carry, and the 7 kg (15 lb) tool weight limit still applies. Rapids are 30 m/min (1,181 in/min) on all axes with 45/45/45 mm (1.8/1.8/1.8 in) ball screws. The magazine row reads 24 (30/32), and the control is a FANUC 0i-M with AICC II.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 15/18.5 kW (20.1/24.8 hp) spindle motor as the listed rating, not a bracketed one
  • Roller guideway bearings and 4/4/7 kW feed motors
  • 1,500 x 650 mm (59.1 x 25.6 in) table carrying 1,500 kg (3,307 lb)
  • 1,300 mm (51.2 in) of X travel at 30 m/min (1,181 in/min)

Limitations

  • Z travel is 550 mm (21.7 in), shorter than the UM-120's 600 mm (23.6 in)
  • The 1,500 mm table is longer than the 1,300 mm X stroke, so its ends cannot be machined in one setup
  • Tool weight limit of 7 kg (15 lb) with an 18.5 kW motor
  • Chip conveyor and through-spindle coolant are optional accessories

Best For

Steel roughing on a BT40 spindle with 15/18.5 kW available Long plates and weldments up to 1,500 kg Production fixtures spread along a 1,500 mm table Shops that want roller guideways as standard

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What spindle motor does the Accuway UM-130 have?

15/18.5 kW (20.1/24.8 hp), continuous and 30 min ratings. Speed is listed at 10,000 rpm with 12,000 rpm in brackets, the taper is BT40 and the drive system row reads Belt (Direct). A spindle oil cooling system is a standard accessory.

02 How does the UM-130 compare with the UM-150?

The UM-150 has 1,500 mm (59.1 in) of X and 750 mm (29.5 in) of Y, a 1,600 x 770 mm (63.0 x 30.3 in) table and weighs 9,500 kg (20,944 lb). Both carry 1,500 kg on the table and both list the 15/18.5 kW motor, roller guideways and 550 mm of Z.

03 What are the table dimensions and T-slots on the UM-130?

The table is 1,500 x 650 mm (59.1 x 25.6 in) with 5 T-slots, 18 mm wide, at a 100 mm pitch. Maximum weight on the table is 1,500 kg (3,307 lb), and the spindle nose travels 150~700 mm (5.9~27.6 in) above it.

04 How much floor space does the UM-130 take?

The dimension row gives 3.3 x 2.7 x 3 m (129.9 x 106.3 x 118.1 in) for length, width and height, and the net weight is 8,000 kg (17,637 lb). Air supply is 5.5 kg/cm². An optional chain type chip conveyor and chip cart need space beyond that.
