How much does the Zayer AETOS cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Zayer AETOS that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Zayer AETOS is a gantry milling machine aimed at moulds and dies: a moving bridge over a fixed table, with every structural part in cast iron. Zayer says the structure was calculated using finite elements and is thermally symmetrical, and ties both to the quality of finish.
It is the narrower kind of Zayer gantry. Cross travel starts at 2,000 mm (78.7 in) and is offered at 2,500, 3,000, 3,500 or 4,000 mm (98.4, 118.1, 137.8 or 157.5 in), where the ALTEA starts at 3,350 mm (131.9 in). X travel is listed as 3,000, 4,000 or 5,000 mm (118.1, 157.5 or 196.9 in) and upward, on tables from 2,500 mm (98.4 in), and Z is 1,200 mm (47.2 in), or 1,500 mm (59.1 in) as an option. The table is rated per area, 15,000 kg/m².
Rapid feed is up to 50,000 mm/min (1,969 ipm) and working feed up to 45,000 mm/min (1,772 ipm). Cross and vertical axes are ball screws. The bridge is shaped as an arch, which according to Zayer distributes the forces onto the column guides, placed at 90º.
Two head families are listed. High torque: 6,000 rpm, 30 kW (40.2 hp), 43 kW (57.7 hp) optional, with the 45º head, 360x1º and 360x1º, as standard. High speed: 18,000 rpm and 33 kW (44.3 hp), for which the accessory table names a 40º head with a 42 kW, 15,000 rpm electrospindle as a possible head but marks no standard one. The distance from table to spindle nose is 1,440 mm (56.7 in) with high torque heads and 1,550 mm (61.0 in) with high speed heads. The magazine holds 30 tools, with 20, 40 or 60 listed as alternatives.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Moulds and dies. Zayer presents it as a machine for the mold and die industry and stresses finish quality: all structural parts are cast iron, calculated using finite elements and thermally symmetrical, for thermal and geometric stability during milling.
02
X travel is 3,000, 4,000 or 5,000 mm (118.1, 157.5 or 196.9 in), with longer versions indicated. Y is 2,000 mm (78.7 in), with 2,500, 3,000, 3,500 or 4,000 mm (98.4, 118.1, 137.8 or 157.5 in) optional. Z is 1,200 mm (47.2 in), or 1,500 mm (59.1 in) optional.
