Price estimate
We do not have a price for the YCM NXV1020AM that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
YCM lists the NXV1020AM as a separate model from the NXV1020A, and the spec table shows why: it gives up axis speed and gains spindle thermal equipment. It is a BBT40 vertical machining center with travels of 1,020 x 520 x 540 mm (40.16 x 20.47 x 21.26 in) and a 1,120 x 520 mm (44 x 20.47 in) table.
Rapid traverse is 24 m/min (945 ipm) in X and Y and 16 m/min (630 ipm) in Z. Cutting feed is listed per axis, 1~20,000 mm/min on X and Y and 1~16,000 mm/min on Z. Those are not figures for chasing seconds on drilled plates. They fit work where the tool stays in the cut for a long time and the moves between cuts hardly matter.
What the M version adds sits in the spindle. The spindle cooling system is standard, and so is oil-air lubrication on the 12,000 rpm IDD spindle; a 15,000 rpm oil-air spindle is the option. Ceramic bearings and a tool unclamping cushion that keeps the unclamping force off the bearings are part of the design. Rated power is 18.5 kW (25 HP). A cooled, oil-air lubricated spindle holds its length better over hours of continuous running, which is what long finishing programs ask for.
The rest follows the series: 500 kg (1,102 lb) on the table, 24 tools with 30 or 40 optional, absolute encoders on the axis motors and a machine weight of 5,350 kg (11,795 lb).

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Spindle cooling system fitted as standard
- Oil-air lubrication as standard on the 12,000 rpm spindle, with a 15,000 rpm oil-air option
- Ceramic spindle bearings and a tool unclamping cushion that protects them
- Same 1,020 x 520 x 540 mm envelope and 500 kg (1,102 lb) table load as the NXV1020A
Limitations
- Rapids of 24 m/min (945 ipm) in X and Y and 16 m/min (630 ipm) in Z add time on parts with many positioning moves
- Z cutting feed stops at 16,000 mm/min (630 ipm)
- Table load is 500 kg (1,102 lb), a limit for steel blocks that fill the table
- The 15,000 rpm spindle is an option

Frequently Asked Questions
01
YCM does not explain it on the page. The table lists 24/24/16 m/min for the NXV1020AM against 48/48/32 m/min for the NXV1020A, with the same travels and weight. The slower model is the one with spindle cooling and oil-air lubrication as standard.
02
An in-house IDD spindle with a BBT40 taper, 12,000 rpm as standard and 15,000 rpm as an option, rated 18.5 kW (25 HP). Oil-air lubrication and the spindle cooling system are standard on this model.
03
The table lists cutting feed of 1~20,000 mm/min on X and Y and 1~16,000 mm/min on Z. Rapid traverse is 24 m/min (945 ipm) on X and Y and 16 m/min (630 ipm) on Z.

A 24-tool magazine is standard and 30 or 40-tool magazines are optional. Tool change is 1.8 sec tool-to-tool. Tools may weigh up to 6 kg (13 lb), and the change speed can be adjusted for heavy tools.
