Price estimate
We do not have a price for the YCM GT-250B that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The YCM GT-250B is a 10" chuck turning center for mid-size shaft and flange work: ø350 mm (ø13.78 in) maximum turning diameter, 515 mm (20.28 in) between the chuck and the end of the cut, and a 3,500 rpm spindle on an A2-8 nose.
The spindle is the strong point. It has a ø88 mm (ø3.46 in) bore and runs in oversize dual roller bearings at both the front and the rear, a bearing arrangement chosen for stiffness under heavy radial load. The motor is listed at 7.5/15 kW in the low range and 11/15 kW in the high range, so 15 kW is available in both. Combined with box ways under the slides, the machine is equipped to take deep roughing cuts on forgings and bar.
Bar capacity through the draw bar is printed as ø75 mm with ø78 mm in brackets; the page does not say which draw tube the larger figure belongs to. The turret is a 10-station servo type with hydraulic clamping. Rapids are 20 m/min (787 ipm) in X and 24 m/min (945 ipm) in Z, a step slower than the GT-200 machines, as expected from heavier slides.
The tailstock quill travels 415 mm (16.34 in) and has an MT-5 taper, with MT-4 in brackets, and a live quill is offered for high-speed production. The machine weighs 6,200 kg (13,669 lb). Options include a bar feeder, parts catcher and automatic tool length measurement.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Up to ø350 mm (ø13.78 in) in diameter and 515 mm (20.28 in) in length. Swing over the turret is ø585 mm (ø23.03 in). The chuck is 10" and the spindle nose is A2-8.
02
The hole through the spindle is ø88 mm (ø3.46 in). The hole through the draw bar is listed as ø75 mm, with ø78 mm in brackets. Ask YCM which chuck and draw tube combination gives the larger figure.
03
The main spindle motor is listed as (L) 7.5/15 and (H) 11/15 kW, and the top speed is 3,500 rpm. YCM describes the motor as a high torque type for roughing tough material at low spindle speed.
