Overview
The Vision Wide VHM-630 is a horizontal machining center with a 630 x 630 mm (24.8 x 24.8 in) table and travels of 1,050 mm (41.3 in) in X and 1,000 mm (39.4 in) in both Y and Z. For a 630 mm pallet class those are long strokes, so the machine can swing a fixture tower well clear of the spindle and still reach its outer faces.
It is the smallest of three VHM sizes and the only one with the lighter spindle motor. Power is 18.5 / 22 kW (24.8 / 29.5 hp), continuous and short-time, where the VHM-800 and VHM-1000 are listed at 22 / 26 kW (29.5 / 34.9 hp). Spindle speed is 6,000 rpm on all three. A 6,000 rpm top speed points this machine at iron and steel housings more than at high-speed aluminium work.
Axis speed is the other defining figure. Rapids are 40 / 40 / 40 m/min and the cutting feed rate is 32 m/min, the same on every VHM model, so the smallest machine with the lightest table has the easiest job reaching those rates.
The table takes 1,200 kg (2,646 lb), measured in the central area as the maker specifies it. The tool magazine holds 40 pcs as listed, with 60, 90, 120, 180 and 240 tool magazines marked as options. Vision Wide's table gives no spindle taper, pallet changer details or index increment for the table, so those need to be requested with the quotation.
