Overview

The Vision Wide VHM-1000 tops the VHM horizontal machining center series with a 1,000 x 1,000 mm (39.4 x 39.4 in) table, 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of X travel and 1,300 mm (51.2 in) of travel on Y and on Z.

What the larger frame buys is swing and reach. A part or fixture that fills a one-metre table needs the long X stroke for the spindle to get past its corners, and the VHM-1000 has more X than the table is wide. What it does not buy is weight capacity: the central-area load is 2,000 kg (4,409 lb), identical to the VHM-800. Large but hollow workpieces, such as fabricated frames and thin-wall housings, fit that profile better than solid blocks.

The drive figures are those of the whole series. Spindle speed is 6,000 rpm with 22 / 26 kW (29.5 / 34.9 hp), rapids are 40 / 40 / 40 m/min and cutting feed is 32 m/min. Moving a one-metre table at 40 m/min is demanding on foundations, so the installation drawing deserves attention.

Vision Wide also makes the VHT-1000 with the same table size. The VHT-1000 lists 3,500 kg (7,716 lb) on the table and slower rapids of 20 / 15 / 20 m/min, so the two cover different work: the VHM for speed, the VHT for mass. Tool capacity on the VHM-1000 is 40 pcs, with 60 to 240 tool magazines optional.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Largest VHM table at 1,000 x 1,000 mm (39.4 x 39.4 in)
  • 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of X travel with 1,300 mm (51.2 in) of Y and Z
  • 40 / 40 / 40 m/min rapids, double the X and Z rapids of the VHT-1000
  • 22 / 26 kW (29.5 / 34.9 hp) spindle motor

Limitations

  • Table load of 2,000 kg (4,409 lb) is no higher than on the VHM-800
  • The VHT-1000 carries 3,500 kg (7,716 lb) on the same table size
  • Spindle speed tops out at 6,000 rpm
  • 40 pcs is the listed magazine; larger ones are optional

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How big a part fits the Vision Wide VHM-1000?

The table is 1,000 x 1,000 mm (39.4 x 39.4 in) and takes up to 2,000 kg (4,409 lb) in the central area. Travels are 1,600 mm (63.0 in) in X, 1,300 mm (51.2 in) in Y and 1,300 mm (51.2 in) in Z.

02 What is the difference between the VHM-1000 and the VHT-1000?

Both have a 1,000 x 1,000 mm (39.4 x 39.4 in) table and a 6,000 rpm, 22 / 26 kW (29.5 / 34.9 hp) spindle. The VHT-1000 is rated for 3,500 kg (7,716 lb) with 20 / 15 / 20 m/min rapids and a 10 m/min cutting feed. The VHM-1000 is rated for 2,000 kg (4,409 lb) with 40 / 40 / 40 m/min rapids and 32 m/min.

03 What spindle speed and power does the VHM-1000 offer?

Spindle speed is 6,000 rpm and spindle power is 22 / 26 kW (29.5 / 34.9 hp), given as continuous and short-time ratings. The table does not publish a torque figure for this series.

04 Does the VHM-1000 carry more weight than the VHM-800?

No. Both are listed at 2,000 kg (4,409 lb) in the central area of the table. The VHM-1000 adds table size and travel, with a 1,000 x 1,000 mm (39.4 x 39.4 in) table against 800 x 800 mm (31.5 x 31.5 in) on the VHM-800.
