Overview
With an 800 x 800 mm (31.5 x 31.5 in) table and 2,000 kg (4,409 lb) of capacity in the central area, the Vision Wide VHM-800 is the middle model of the VHM horizontal machining center series. Travels are 1,300 mm (51.2 in) in X and 1,200 mm (47.2 in) in Y and in Z.
The jump from the VHM-630 is larger than the model numbers suggest. Table load goes from 1,200 kg (2,646 lb) on the VHM-630 to 2,000 kg (4,409 lb), and the spindle motor from 18.5 / 22 kW (24.8 / 29.5 hp) on that machine to 22 / 26 kW (29.5 / 34.9 hp). In other words this is the size at which the series becomes a machine for heavy castings.
Going up again brings less. The VHM-1000 has a 1,000 x 1,000 mm (39.4 x 39.4 in) table and 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of X, but its load rating is the same 2,000 kg (4,409 lb) and so is its motor. Unless the part itself is too big, the VHM-800 does the same work on a smaller floor area.
None of that costs axis speed on paper: rapids are 40 / 40 / 40 m/min and the cutting feed rate 32 m/min. Spindle speed is 6,000 rpm.
