Overview

The Vision Wide VHT-1000 is the heavy-load counterpart to the VHM line: a horizontal machining center with a 1,000 x 1,000 mm (39.4 x 39.4 in) table rated for 3,500 kg (7,716 lb) in the central area. It is the smallest of the three VHT models.

Unusually, the travels do not change with the model. Every VHT lists X as 2,000 / 2,500 mm (78.7 / 98.4 in) and Y as 1,300 / 1,600 mm (51.2 / 63.0 in), with the second figure in each pair marked Opt., and Z as 1,300 mm (51.2 in). On the VHT-1000 that means a one-metre table under a stroke at least twice its width, so long workpieces can overhang the table and still be machined end to end.

Spindle data are 6,000 rpm and 22 / 26 kW (29.5 / 34.9 hp). The axes are geared for load, not pace: rapids are 20 / 15 / 20 m/min and the cutting feed rate is 10 m/min. The VHM-1000, on the same table size, lists 40 / 40 / 40 m/min but only 2,000 kg (4,409 lb).

Within the VHT series the next step is the VHT-1250, with a 1,250 x 1,250 mm (49.2 x 49.2 in) table and 5,000 kg (11,023 lb). Since the travels and spindle are common, the VHT-1000 is the choice when the parts are heavy for their footprint and a compact table keeps the spindle close to the work. The magazine is 40 pcs, with 60 to 240 tools optional.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 3,500 kg (7,716 lb) central-area table load on a 1,000 x 1,000 mm (39.4 x 39.4 in) table
  • X travel listed as 2,000 / 2,500 mm (78.7 / 98.4 in) (Opt.), far longer than the table
  • 22 / 26 kW (29.5 / 34.9 hp) spindle motor at 6,000 rpm
  • Magazine options from 40 pcs up to 240

Limitations

  • Rapids of 20 / 15 / 20 m/min and a 10 m/min cutting feed rate are well below the VHM-1000
  • The longer X and Y strokes are options, not the base travel
  • Lowest table load in the VHT series; the VHT-1250 takes 5,000 kg (11,023 lb)
  • Z travel is fixed at 1,300 mm (51.2 in)
06

Best For

Dense steel and iron workpieces up to 3,500 kg (7,716 lb) Long parts that overhang a one-metre table Heavy boring and milling where traverse speed matters little

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How much weight does the Vision Wide VHT-1000 table take?

3,500 kg (7,716 lb), specified for the central area of the 1,000 x 1,000 mm (39.4 x 39.4 in) table. That compares with 2,000 kg (4,409 lb) for the VHM-1000 on the same table size.

02 What are the travels of the VHT-1000?

The table lists X as 2,000 / 2,500 mm (78.7 / 98.4 in) (Opt.), Y as 1,300 / 1,600 mm (51.2 / 63.0 in) (Opt.) and Z as 1,300 mm (51.2 in). The same travel rows apply to all three VHT models.

03 How fast does the VHT-1000 move?

Rapid traverse is 20 / 15 / 20 m/min on X, Y and Z, and the cutting feed rate is 10 m/min. These are modest figures, in keeping with the heavy table loads the series is rated for.

04 What separates the VHT-1000 from the VHT-1250?

Table size and load only. The VHT-1250 has a 1,250 x 1,250 mm (49.2 x 49.2 in) table for 5,000 kg (11,023 lb); the VHT-1000 has 1,000 x 1,000 mm (39.4 x 39.4 in) for 3,500 kg (7,716 lb). Travels, spindle, rapids and magazine are listed identically.
