Overview

Six metres of X travel puts the Vision Wide SM-6122 beyond every other moving-table double-column machine in the maker's SM and SF tables. X is 6,100 mm (240.2 in), the table is 6,300×2,100 mm (248.0×82.7 in), and the load rating is 20,000 kg (44,092 lb).

For comparison, the longest SF, the SF-5122, has 5,100 mm (200.8 in) of X and an 18,000 kg (39,683 lb) table. The SM-6122 goes one step further in both and has the larger motor: 22 / 26 kW (29.5 / 34.9 hp).

A table that moves its full length needs roughly twice that length of floor, so this is a machine to plan the building around. Vision Wide's specification table gives no footprint or machine weight. Get the foundation drawing early, because a bed of this length has to be planned into the floor before the machine arrives.

Y travel is 2,200 mm (86.6 in) and Z is 800 mm, or 1,000 mm optionally. The spindle is the linear way 2-step gear type at 6,000 rpm. For parts this long that also need cross travel beyond the table, the SM-6122Y lists 2,700 mm (106.3 in) of Y.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 6,100 mm (240.2 in) of X travel, the longest in the SM series
  • 20,000 kg (44,092 lb) table load
  • 6,300×2,100 mm (248.0×82.7 in) table
  • 22 / 26 kW (29.5 / 34.9 hp) spindle motor

Limitations

  • No footprint, machine weight or foundation data in the specification table
  • Z travel of 800 mm is short against a 6,100 mm (240.2 in) bed
  • Tool capacity tops out at 40 pcs

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the longest Vision Wide SM model?

The SM-6122 and its wider variant the SM-6122Y, each with 6,100 mm (240.2 in) of X travel and a 6,300×2,100 mm (248.0×82.7 in) table.

02 How much weight can the SM-6122 carry?

20,000 kg (44,092 lb), the highest table load in the SM series. The SM-5122 carries 18,000 kg (39,683 lb) and the SM-4122 carries 16,000 kg (35,273 lb).

03 How much floor space does the SM-6122 need?

Vision Wide's table does not give machine dimensions or weight. The table measures 6,300×2,100 mm (248.0×82.7 in) and travels 6,100 mm (240.2 in), so the bed is far longer than the table. Request the layout and foundation drawings.

04 What are the Y and Z travels of the SM-6122?

Y travel is 2,200 mm (86.6 in). Z travel is 800 / 1,000 mm (31.5 / 39.4 in), where 800 mm is standard and 1,000 mm is on the option list.
