Vision Wide GSA-2227 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Vision Wide GSA-2227 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Vision Wide or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

Power is the surprise in the Vision Wide GSA-2227. A gantry with an indexing two-axis head and a 15,000 rpm spindle would usually be a finishing machine, yet the table lists 50/65 kW (67.1/87.2 hp), and the feature list speaks of above 40kW spindle driving capacity.

That changes what the head can do at an angle. With the spindle tilted toward a mold wall the tool can be short, and a short tool on an HSK-A100 interface with a 20kN clamping force can take a real roughing cut. So the same setup that finishes a cavity can also remove most of its stock, which is the claim behind the maker's phrase about shortening the cutting process.

The working area is 2,200 mm (86.6 in) in X by 2,700 mm (106.3 in) in Y over a 2,200×2,700 mm (86.6×106.3 in) table, with 1,000 mm of Z and 1,200 mm optional.

High power in a compact head makes heat, and Vision Wide lists an IAC head protection system as standard: spindle and motor temperature monitoring, rotation axis motor temperature monitoring and spindle cutting load software protection. A spindle cooling system is standard too. Rapids are 32/32/20 m/min.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How powerful is the Vision Wide GSA-2227 spindle?

The table lists 50/65 kW (67.1/87.2 hp), continuous and short-time, at 15,000 rpm. The feature list describes above 40kW spindle driving capacity and a tool clamping force of 20kN.

02 What protects the IAC head on the GSA-2227?

The standard IAC head protection system covers spindle and motor temperature monitoring, rotation axis motor temperature monitoring and spindle cutting load software protection. IAC head rotation error mechanism chain correction is also standard.

03 What is the work envelope of the GSA-2227?

2,200 mm (86.6 in) in X, 2,700 mm (106.3 in) in Y and 1,000 mm in Z, or 1,200 mm with the option. The table is 2,200×2,700 mm (86.6×106.3 in).

04 How fast are the GSA-2227 axes?

Rapid traverse is 32/32/20 m/min for X/Y/Z and the cutting feed range is 1~20,000 mm/min. X and Z are driven by dual ballscrews and Y by a single ballscrew.
