Vision Wide SF-2623 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Vision Wide SF-2623 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Vision Wide or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

On the Vision Wide SF-2623 the cross axis is the slower of the two horizontal axes. The rapid traverse row reads X/Y/Z : 24/20/15 m/min, with 2,600 mm (102.4 in) of X travel and 2,300 mm (90.6 in) of Y.

That is the reverse of what the shorter-Y SF machines show. The SF-2616 lists 24 m/min for X and Y alike. A plausible reading is that the longer beam and the saddle running out beyond the table are the heavier moving mass on this version, but Vision Wide's page does not say so, and the figure matters more than the reason. If the work involves many cross moves, the cycle will run a little slower than on the SF-2616.

The table is 2,500x1,500 mm (98.4x59.1 in) for 9,000 kg (19,841 lb). Z travel on the box way head is 800 mm, with 1,020 mm optional for work with a head attachment.

This is a machine for heavy, slow, accurate cutting more than for speed. Its only listed spindle is the 2-step gear type, and the standard tool changer is a floor-standing unit with 32 tools. Spindle power is 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp).

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 2,600 mm (102.4 in) by 2,300 mm (90.6 in) of X and Y travel
  • 9,000 kg (19,841 lb) on a 2,500x1,500 mm (98.4x59.1 in) table
  • X rapid of 24 m/min, the same as the shorter-Y machines
  • Floor-standing type vertical tool change with 32 tools, 40 optional

Limitations

  • Y rapid of 20 m/min is lower than on the SF-2616
  • Geared spindle only: 6,000 rpm, or 4,000 rpm as an option
  • Z travel of 800 mm unless the 1,020 mm option is taken
06

Best For

Heavy cutting on parts up to 9,000 kg (19,841 lb) Side-face work on blocks that fill a 1,500 mm (59.1 in) wide table Shops that put rigidity ahead of traverse speed

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What are the rapids on the Vision Wide SF-2623?

X/Y/Z : 24/20/15 m/min. The SF-2616, with 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of Y travel, lists 24 m/min for both X and Y, so the longer cross travel comes with a slower Y axis.

02 What table does the SF-2623 have?

A 2,500x1,500 mm (98.4x59.1 in) table rated for 9,000 kg (19,841 lb). X travel is 2,600 mm (102.4 in) and Y travel is 2,300 mm (90.6 in).

03 Can the SF-2623 be fitted with a 12,000 rpm spindle?

Its specification table lists no linear way head and no direct-driven or built-in spindle. The only spindle row is the box way 2-step gear type at 6,000/4,000 rpm(Opt.). Ask Vision Wide if a faster spindle is needed on this frame.

04 How much Z travel is there on the SF-2623?

The box way head is listed at 800/1,020 mm (31.5/40.2 in)(Opt.). The series option list ties the longer stroke to use with an AC head attachment.
