Vision Wide SF-2616 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Vision Wide SF-2616 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Vision Wide or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

With 2,600 mm (102.4 in) of X travel over a 2,500x1,500 mm (98.4x59.1 in) table, the Vision Wide SF-2616 is the second size of the SF bridge-type machining center with 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of Y. Table load is 9,000 kg (19,841 lb).

X travel is longer than the table in this size, and so is Y against the 1,500 mm table width. That lets the spindle reach every edge of a plate that fills the table, which is not something the specification of every large machine allows. A plate the size of the table can be faced, drilled and profiled around its border in one clamping, as long as the clamps sit inside the outline.

How fast is it? Vision Wide describes the SF as a linear way design with rapid traverse reaching 24 m / min, and this model lists 24 m/min in X and Y with 15 m/min in Z. The cutting feed rate tops out at 10,000 mm/min. The spindle motor is 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp), and a 22/26 kW (29.5/34.9 hp) motor is marked as an option.

For longer work the SF-3116 has a 3,000x1,500 mm (118.1x59.1 in) table; for wider work the SF-2620 keeps this X travel and offers 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of Y. The magazine is listed as 32/40 pcs(Opt.) with a vertical type tool change.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • X travel of 2,600 mm (102.4 in) is longer than the 2,500x1,500 mm (98.4x59.1 in) table, so the full table is within reach
  • 9,000 kg (19,841 lb) table load
  • Optional 22/26 kW (29.5/34.9 hp) spindle motor above the 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp) base rating
  • Cutting feed up to 10,000 mm/min with 24 m/min rapids in X and Y

Limitations

  • Y travel stops at 1,600 mm (63.0 in); the SF-2620 is needed for 2,000 mm (78.7 in)
  • Z rapid is 15 m/min, slower than the 24 m/min of X and Y
  • The 40 tool magazine is an option over the 32 tools magazine fitted as standard
  • Direct-driven and built-in spindles are listed only as options

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What size table does the Vision Wide SF-2616 have?

The table measures 2,500x1,500 mm (98.4x59.1 in) and carries up to 9,000 kg (19,841 lb). X travel is 2,600 mm (102.4 in) and Y travel 1,600 mm (63.0 in), both longer than the matching table dimension.

02 What is the rapid traverse rate of the SF-2616?

The table gives 24 m/min for X and Y and 15 m/min for Z. Cutting feed is listed as 1-10,000 mm/min. Vision Wide's feature text describes the Z axis 15m rapid traverse as chosen for contour accuracy in high-speed mold machining.

03 Can the SF-2616 be ordered with a faster spindle?

Yes. The standard spindle is a 6,000rpm 2-step gear type. Options include 8,000/ 10,000rpm belt-driven spindles and 10,000(BT-50)/ 12,000(BT-40)rpm direct-driven spindles; the table also lists a built-in spindle at 10,000 rpm on the linear way head.

04 How does the SF-2616 differ from the SF-2620?

Both have 2,600 mm (102.4 in) of X travel and a 9,000 kg (19,841 lb) table load. The SF-2620 has 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of Y and a 2,500x1,800 mm (98.4x70.9 in) table, where the SF-2616 has 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of Y and a 2,500x1,500 mm (98.4x59.1 in) table.
