Doosan DNM 750 II

The Doosan DNM 750 II is a large-table vertical machining center whose travels match its table: 1,630 mm (64 in) in X and 762 mm (30 in) in Y over a 1,630 × 760 mm (64 × 30 in) table, with 650 mm (26 in) of Z and a 1,500 kg (3,307 lb) table load. It is a current DN Solutions model; the Doosan name it carries dates from before the company's 2022 change from Doosan Machine Tools.

Full coverage is the practical difference from the smaller DNM machines. On the DNM 6700 the table is 1,500 mm (59 in) long but X stops at 1,300 mm (51 in), so the ends of a full-length plate are out of reach. Here a plate that fills the table can be faced, drilled and profiled from one end to the other without repositioning, which is what long rails, die plates and machine bases need.

Size is paid for in axis speed. Rapids are 30 m/min (1,181 ipm) in X and Y and 24 m/min (945 ipm) in Z, where the DNM 6700 is listed at 36 m/min (1,417 ipm) and 30 m/min (1,181 ipm). On long parts with few tool changes that hardly shows. On small parts fixtured in rows it adds up, and a smaller model will finish them sooner.

The spindle is listed at 8,000 rpm and 118 N·m (87 ft-lb). DN's table gives no spindle power row for this model, so do not assume the 18.5 kW (25 hp) of the DNM 6700 applies; ask for the power and the taper in writing. DN Solutions describes the DNM series as having a direct-coupled spindle, grease-lubricated roller guideways as standard and an EOP function reached through a pop-up on the NC main screen. The machine is 3,480 mm (137 in) long, 3,850 mm (152 in) wide and 3,170 mm (125 in) high, and at 13,500 kg (29,762 lb) the floor and the rigging plan need checking early.
