Vision Wide SF-2116 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Vision Wide SF-2116 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Vision Wide or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Vision Wide SF-2116 is the smallest double-column machining center in the SF series: 2,100 mm (82.7 in) of X, 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of Y and a 2,000x1,500 mm (78.7x59.1 in) table rated for 8,000 kg (17,637 lb). It is a 3-axis bridge machine, with the table travelling in X under a fixed pair of columns.

What comes as standard matters more here than on most machines, because the specification table is full of options. The base build is a 6,000rpm 2-step gear type spindle on a box way Z axis, a FANUC 0iMF PLUS controller and a 32 tools magazine with arm type ATC. Spindle power is 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp), the continuous and short-time ratings. The 10,000 rpm and 12,000 rpm speeds in the table belong to optional direct-driven and built-in spindles on a linear way head, so a quotation for mold finishing will look different from one for steel roughing.

Z travel is 800 mm, with 1,020 mm on the box way head or 1,000 mm on the linear way head as options. Rapid traverse is 24 m/min in X and Y and 15 m/min in Z, and cutting feed runs from 1-10,000 mm/min. The SF-2616, SF-3116 and SF-4116 share this cross travel, spindle and Z; they lengthen the table and X travel only, so the choice between them comes down to part length.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 8,000 kg (17,637 lb) table load on the shortest table of the series, 2,000x1,500 mm (78.7x59.1 in)
  • Y travel of 1,600 mm (63.0 in) covers the full 1,500 mm table width
  • FANUC 0iMF PLUS controller and a 32 tools magazine with arm type ATC are standard
  • Rapid traverse of 24 m/min in X and Y, 15 m/min in Z

Limitations

  • Every spindle above the 6,000rpm 2-step gear type is an option
  • Standard Z travel is 800 mm; the 1,020 mm and 1,000 mm strokes are options
  • Coolant through spindle system 20/70 bar is optional, not part of the base machine

Best For

Mold bases and plates that fit a 2,000x1,500 mm (78.7x59.1 in) table, up to 8,000 kg (17,637 lb) Steel and cast iron milling with the geared 6,000 rpm spindle Shops needing double-column rigidity in the shortest SF footprint

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What are the travels of the Vision Wide SF-2116?

X is 2,100 mm (82.7 in) and Y is 1,600 mm (63.0 in). Z is listed as 800 / 1,020 mm (31.5 / 40.2 in) (Opt.) for the box way head and 800 / 1,000 mm (31.5 / 39.4 in) (Opt.) for the linear way head, so the longer Z strokes are extras.

02 Which spindle is standard on the SF-2116?

The standard accessory list names a 6,000rpm 2-step gear type spindle with a box way Z axis. A 4,000rpm geared spindle, 8,000/ 10,000rpm belt-driven spindles and 10,000(BT-50)/ 12,000(BT-40)rpm direct-driven spindles are options.

03 How much weight can the SF-2116 table take?

The maximum table load is 8,000 kg (17,637 lb) on a 2,000x1,500 mm (78.7x59.1 in) table. The SF-2616 with a 2,500x1,500 mm (98.4x59.1 in) table is rated for 9,000 kg (19,841 lb).

04 What control does the SF-2116 use?

Vision Wide lists the FANUC 0iMF PLUS controller as standard for the SF series. The accessory lists on the SF page name no alternative control, so ask the maker if another one is required.
