Overview
The DMG Mori DMV 110 is the big brother in DMG Mori’s DMV vertical machining center line, offering 1,100 x 600 x 510 mm (43.3 x 23.6 x 20.1 in) of travel. It takes the same production-focused architecture as the DMV 60 and stretches the X-axis to handle parts up to a meter long without sacrificing speed or rigidity.
The spindle runs a BIG-PLUS BBT 40 taper at 15,000 RPM with 18.5 kW (25 hp), same as the DMV 60. A 20,000 RPM direct-drive option is available for high-speed mold finishing and aluminum production. Rapid traverse hits 42 m/min across all axes on roller guides, and the arm-type ATC handles 30 tools standard (40 optional) with 2.2-second chip-to-chip changes.
The 2,000 x 600 mm (78.7 x 23.6 in) table is the DMV 110’s standout feature. At 1,700 kg (3,748 lb) max load, it handles heavy weldments, large castings, and multi-part fixtures that would overwhelm smaller machines. The extended table also makes it practical for twin-vise setups or pallet systems.
DMG Mori’s THERMO SHIELD system with ball screw core cooling and column cooling channels maintains dimensional stability through temperature swings. The FANUC 0i-MF Plus control with CELOS X interface handles programming and job management.
New DMV 110 machines price between $175,000 and $245,000. The DMV 110 competes with the Haas VF-4SS, Mazak VCN-530C, and Okuma GENOS M660-V in the large-travel production VMC segment. Specs sourced from DMG Mori published data and dealer listings.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 1,700 kg table load is among the highest in the 40-inch VMC class, supporting heavy fixtures and multi-part setups without concern
- 2,000 mm table length accommodates twin-vise arrangements and pallet changeout systems for near-continuous production
- BIG-PLUS BBT 40 spindle at 15,000 RPM delivers both rigidity for steel and speed for aluminum in a single platform
- 30-tool standard ATC is generous for this class — most competitors start at 20 or 24
- THERMO SHIELD thermal management maintains accuracy through 8+ hour production shifts
- At 8,500 kg, the DMV 110 is substantially heavier than most 40-inch VMCs, providing better vibration damping during heavy cuts
Limitations
- 510 mm Z-travel may limit tall fixture setups or deep cavity work compared to machines with 600+ mm Z
- Starting at $175K, it is a significant step up from entry-level VMCs like the Haas VF-4 at $80-95K
- 18.5 kW spindle power is shared with the smaller DMV 60 — shops doing heavy roughing may want more horsepower for this travel class
- DMG Mori proprietary service and parts pricing affects long-term ownership costs

Frequently Asked Questions
01
New DMV 110 machines start around $175,000. With the 20,000 RPM spindle, through-spindle coolant, probing, and expanded 40-tool ATC, expect $215,000-$245,000. Used units are still relatively rare but trade in the $100,000-$150,000 range.
02
Same spindle, same rapids, same control. The DMV 110 adds 500 mm of X-travel, a larger table (2,000 vs 1,300 mm), more standard tools (30 vs 20), and double the table load (1,700 vs 800 kg). It weighs 2,300 kg more, which improves rigidity. Choose the DMV 60 if your parts fit; step up to the 110 for larger work.
03
Yes. The 2,000 mm table can accommodate linear pallet changers from DMG Mori or third-party automation suppliers. The machine M-code interfaces and 4th-axis pre-wiring support automated pallet exchange. Several shops run the DMV 110 with 2-pallet systems for unattended second-shift production.
04
At 8,500 kg with BIG-PLUS spindle and roller guides, the DMV 110 handles moderate steel roughing well. For aggressive hogging in hardened steel or cast iron, a box-way machine like the NVX 7000 or a heavier platform may be more appropriate. The DMV 110 shines in production environments where speed and precision matter more than maximum metal removal rate.
