Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Vision Wide MB-2016 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Vision Wide MB-2016 is the smallest of the MB bridge-type milling machines, a line the maker describes as designed with box ways with hand scraping, cutting vibration adapting and precise power transmission. Its figures are those of the VB-2016 machining center: 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of X, 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of Y and a 2,000×1,300 mm (78.7×51.2 in) table for 8,000 kg (17,637 lb).
The phrase about vibration is the one to hold on to. A box way slides on an oil film over a wide contact area, and that film soaks up the chatter an interrupted cut sends back through the tool. On a machine that will spend its days roughing steel and iron with large cutters, damping is worth more than speed, and the MB accepts the slower traverse that comes with it. Rapid traverse is 15 m/min on X, Y and Z; cutting feed is 1-7,000 mm/min.
The spindle is geared. A 4,000 rpm two-step gear spindle is standard and 6,000 rpm optional, on 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp), with 22/26 kW (29.5/34.9 hp) and 30/37 kW (40.2/49.6 hp) motors listed as options.
Z travel is 800 mm, or 1,020 mm as an option. The control is a Fanuc 0iMF PLUS.
