Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Vision Wide VB-2016 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Vision Wide VB-2016 is a box way double-column machining center, the smallest of a series built for heavy cutting. All three axes slide on hardened box ways, where most of the maker's other bridge machines use linear guides on at least X and Y.
Box ways give up speed for damping and load capacity. The broad sliding contact absorbs vibration from an interrupted cut in a way rolling guides do not, in exchange for more friction and lower traverse rates. The figures show the trade: rapid traverse is 15 m/min on X, Y and Z and cutting feed is 1-7,000 mm/min.
Travels are 2,000 mm (78.7 in) in X and 1,600 mm (63.0 in) in Y, with 800 mm of Z and 1,020 mm as an option. The table is 2,000×1,300 mm (78.7×51.2 in) and carries 8,000 kg (17,637 lb).
The spindle matches the ways. A 4,000 rpm two-step gear spindle is standard and a 6,000 rpm gear spindle is the only faster option. The motor is 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp), with 22/26 kW (29.5/34.9 hp) and 30/37 kW (40.2/49.6 hp) offered above it. This is a machine for steel and iron roughing, die blocks and heavy plate, not for high-speed finishing.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Hardened box ways on all three axes
- Spindle motor options up to 30/37 kW (40.2/49.6 hp)
- 8,000 kg (17,637 lb) on a 2,000×1,300 mm (78.7×51.2 in) table
- 4,000 rpm two-step gear spindle as standard
Limitations
- Rapid traverse of 15 m/min and cutting feed of 1-7,000 mm/min
- Top spindle speed of 6,000 rpm, and that is an option
- Table width of 1,300 mm (51.2 in) is the narrowest in the series

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Box ways on all three axes. Vision Wide says three axes movement is fully supported by hardened box way with low friction, and that the ways were heat treated to HRC 50 hardness and hand scraped.
02
X travel 2,000 mm (78.7 in), Y travel 1,600 mm (63.0 in), Z travel 800 mm or optionally 1,020 mm. The table is 2,000×1,300 mm (78.7×51.2 in) with an 8,000 kg (17,637 lb) load.
03
A 4,000 rpm two-step gear spindle is standard and a 6,000 rpm 2-step gear spindle is optional. Power is 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp), with 22/26 kW (29.5/34.9 hp) and 30/37 kW (40.2/49.6 hp) as options.
04
Rapid traverse is 15 m/min on X, Y and Z, and cutting feed is 1-7,000 mm/min. Those are low figures by design; the series uses box ways for heavy cutting.
