Overview
The DN Solutions T 4000 LHS combines the two most popular T 4000 features into one machine: the extended 700 mm Y-axis from the "L" variant and the 24,000 RPM high-speed spindle from the "HS" variant. If you're running high-volume aluminum production and your parts are too long for the standard T 4000 HS, this is the machine that solves that problem without stepping up to a full-size VMC.
The spindle delivers 24,000 RPM with 11 kW (15 hp) and 17.5 Nm of torque — identical to the T 4000 HS. That's a purpose-built high-speed spindle for aluminum, brass, and other non-ferrous materials where RPM directly translates to surface footage and productivity. The extended 850 x 400 mm table with 700 mm Y-travel lets you fixture longer parts or arrange more parts in multi-cavity setups along the Y-axis.
Axis travels of 350 x 700 x 400 mm (14 x 28 x 16 in) give you nearly double the Y-travel of the standard HS model while maintaining the same compact X and Z dimensions. At 300 kg table load capacity and 3,000 kg machine weight, the T 4000 LHS stays in the easy-to-install, no-foundation-required category. The FANUC control and consistent programming across the T 4000 family mean operators and programmers work seamlessly between models. For shops running dedicated aluminum production cells with elongated parts, the LHS variant eliminates the compromise between speed and work envelope that the standard HS model forces.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 24,000 RPM spindle with extended 700mm Y-travel — the best of both the HS and L variants in one machine
- 850 x 400 mm table accommodates longer parts and multi-part fixtures for higher parts-per-load
- Compact X and Z footprint keeps floor space requirements minimal despite extended Y-axis
- Maximum productivity on aluminum and non-ferrous materials with high-speed tooling
- 3,000 kg weight enables drop-in installation without foundation work
- Consistent FANUC control and programming across the entire T 4000 lineup
Limitations
- 17.5 Nm torque limits this machine to non-ferrous materials — steel and cast iron work isn't practical
- 11 kW spindle power restricts heavy milling operations even in aluminum
- 350 mm X-travel remains the limiting factor for wider parts
- Slightly higher price than the standard HS or L models for the combined capability

Frequently Asked Questions
01
New T 4000 LHS machines run $55,000-$85,000. The base machine starts around $55,000-$65,000, with through-spindle coolant, probing, chip conveyor, and automation interface pushing pricing to $75,000-$85,000. It carries a small premium over the standard HS and L models for the combined long-bed high-speed capability.
02
It depends on your part mix. If most parts need the extended Y-travel, the LHS is the clear choice. If only some parts need it, two standard HS machines give you more spindle hours per day and redundancy. Two HS machines cost about the same as two LHS machines, so the decision comes down to part geometry, not budget.
03
Light drilling and tapping in mild steel is possible, but it's not what this machine is designed for. With 17.5 Nm of torque and 11 kW of power, heavy steel cuts aren't practical. If you need steel capability with extended Y-travel, the T 4000 L with its 82.7 Nm torque and 13 kW spindle is the right choice.
04
Both target high-speed production of longer parts. The Brother offers slightly more travels and a broader ecosystem of automation options. The T 4000 LHS matches on spindle speed (24K RPM) and typically prices $5,000-$15,000 lower. For shops already running DN Solutions machines with FANUC controls, the LHS keeps everything consistent.
