How much does the SYIL X7 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the SYIL X7 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
With 400 mm (15.7 in) of X travel, 300 mm (11.8 in) of Y and 380 mm (15.0 in) of Z, the SYIL X7 is a compact BT30 vertical machining center built around a belt-driven 12,000 rpm spindle. Its spindle motor is listed at 7.5/11 kW (10.1/14.8 hp) (rate/max), and that motor is the main reason to choose it over the smaller machine in the range.
The SYIL X5 turns faster, at 20,000 rpm, but its motor output is 4.8 kW (6.4 hp). The X7 trades top speed for power at the tool, which makes it the more general-purpose of the two: it can still run small cutters in aluminium, and it has more in reserve for face mills and drills in steel within what a BT30 taper will hold.
The table is 700 × 300 mm (27.6 × 11.8 in), long enough for two small vises side by side, with three T-slots at 100 mm spacing. Its load rating is 150 kg (331 lb). Clearance under the spindle nose ranges from 150 to 530 mm, so there is room for a rotary table and tailstock, which SYIL offers in a 125mm size as options.
An arm-type changer holds 16 tools and swaps them in 1.5 s tool to tool. Tool limits are 63 mm (2.5 in) in diameter, 200 mm (7.9 in) in length and 3 kg (7 lb). Axis rapids reach 30,000 mm/min (1,181 ipm).
SYIL builds the X7 on a Schneeberger mineral casting frame with THK ball screws and linear guides, and fits the Siemens SINUMERIK 828D as standard. The machine weighs 2,200 kg (4,850 lb), occupies 1,800 × 1,600 × 2,250 mm (70.9 × 63.0 × 88.6 in) with coolant tank and controller, and draws 14 kVA from an AC380V three-phase supply.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Spindle motor listed at 7.5/11 kW (10.1/14.8 hp) (rate/max), well above the 4.8 kW (6.4 hp) of the SYIL X5
- 700 × 300 mm (27.6 × 11.8 in) table that takes two small vises in a row
- Arm-type tool changer with 16 positions and a 1.5 s tool-to-tool time
- Up to 530 mm between spindle nose and table top leaves room for a rotary table
- Siemens SINUMERIK 828D as standard on a Schneeberger mineral casting frame
Limitations
- Y travel is 300 mm (11.8 in), so wide plates need repositioning
- Table load is 150 kg (331 lb), no higher than on the smaller SYIL X5
- The BT30 taper and the 63 mm (2.5 in) tool diameter limit keep cutters small
- Belt drive tops out at 12,000 rpm, below the 20,000 rpm of the SYIL X5
- Rotary table, tailstock, probe, tool setter and Filtermist S800 are options

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The X7 is longer in every axis and has the stronger spindle motor. Its travels are 400 × 300 × 380 mm and its table is 700 × 300 mm, where the SYIL X5 has travels of 300 mm in X, 260 mm in Y and 300 mm in Z and a 560 × 260 mm table. The SYIL X5 has a direct-drive 20,000 rpm spindle with 4.8 kW (6.4 hp); the X7 is belt-driven to 12,000 rpm with a motor listed at 7.5/11 kW (10.1/14.8 hp) (rate/max). Both carry 150 kg (331 lb) on the table and 16 tools.
02
The travels are 400 mm (15.7 in) in X, 300 mm (11.8 in) in Y and 380 mm (15.0 in) in Z, over a 700 × 300 mm (27.6 × 11.8 in) table. The spindle nose can be between 150 and 530 mm above the table. Part, fixture and any rotary table together must stay within the 150 kg (331 lb) table load.
03
SYIL fits the Siemens SINUMERIK 828D as standard. The power section of the specification lists a 14 kVA connection on AC380V three-phase, with axis drive motors of 1.1/2.2/2.2 kW (X, Y, Z).
04
Five: a 4th-axis NC rotary table in 125mm size, a tailstock for that rotary table, a wireless probe system, a cable-type tool setter (TTC200) and a Filtermist S800 mist extraction unit. None of them is described as part of the standard machine.
05
SYIL gives the footprint as 1,800 × 1,600 × 2,250 mm (70.9 × 63.0 × 88.6 in), including the coolant tank and controller, and the machine weight as 2,200 kg (4,850 lb). The coolant tank holds 80 L (21.1 gal), and the air supply must be between 0.4 and 0.8 MPa.
