Price estimate
We do not have a price for the SW BA W08-11 space that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The SW BA W08-11 space is the large-swing version of the single-spindle BA W08-11. SW's table gives it the same travels and spindles and one different row: the 4th-axis interference circle grows to Ø 1,850 x 1,980 mm.
That is the largest interference circle in SW's BA W08 table. It means a fixture nearly two metres long and wider than a typical car subframe can rotate in front of the spindle. For flat structural parts clamped on a frame fixture, the swing is usually the first limit a machine runs into. The linear axes are rarely the problem.
Travel is 1,500 mm (59.1 in) in X and 660 mm (26.0 in) in Z. Y is 1,025 mm (40.4 in) with the HSK-A63 or HSK-A80 spindle and 975 mm (38.4 in) with HSK-A100. Note that the swing diameter is larger than the Y travel. The spindle cannot reach every point of a fixture that fills the circle in one rotary position, so the part is indexed to bring each area within range.
Spindles follow the series: 35 kW and 80 Nm at up to 17,500 rpm on HSK-A63, or 42 kW and 200 Nm at up to 12,500 rpm on the two larger interfaces. SW names subframes, battery trays, strut mountings and structural components among the parts for the BA W08, and this model is the one sized for the biggest of them.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Ø 1,850 x 1,980 mm interference circle, the largest in the BA W08 table
- 1,500 mm (59.1 in) of X and up to 1,025 mm (40.4 in) of Y
- Linear drive technology on a single-spindle machine for large parts
- HSK-A63, HSK-A80 or HSK-A100 spindle
Limitations
- The swing exceeds the Y travel, so large fixtures have to be indexed to reach all areas
- One spindle and one table
- Y is 975 mm (38.4 in) with the HSK-A100 spindle
- SW's table gives no load capacity for the workpiece carrier

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The interference circle of the 4th axis. It is Ø 1,850 x 1,980 mm on the BA W08-11 space and Ø 1,650 x 1,830 mm on the standard BA W08-11. SW's table lists the travels and spindles of the two with identical values.
02
1,500 mm (59.1 in) in X, 660 mm (26.0 in) in Z, and 1,025 mm (40.4 in) in Y with HSK-A63 or HSK-A80, or 975 mm (38.4 in) in Y with HSK-A100.
03
Usually the HSK-A63 spindle, which has the 1-17,500 rpm range with 35 kW and 80 Nm and keeps the full 1,025 mm (40.4 in) of Y. The HSK-A80 and HSK-A100 spindles offer 42 kW and 200 Nm at up to 12,500 rpm for larger tools.
04
Yes. The BA W08-21 space has the same Ø 1,850 x 1,980 mm interference circle with two spindles and 800 mm (31.5 in) of X per spindle.
