How much does the SW BA one6 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the SW BA one6 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The SW BA one6 is a single-spindle machining center with linear drives, built for precision work instead of multi-spindle output. SW's feature list says so directly: for highest precision machining requirements. The work space is 600 mm (23.6 in) in X, 650 mm (25.6 in) in Y and 500 mm (19.7 in) in Z.
Two spindles are offered. The HSK-A63 version has a speed range of 1-17,500 rpm with 35 kW and 80 Nm. The HSK-A80 version has 1-12,500 rpm with 42 kW and 200 Nm. The second more than doubles the torque and is the one for boring and for larger face mills.
SW names a single workpiece for this model: the gearbox housing. That is a telling choice. A gearbox housing has bearing bores that must line up across the part, and the positional tolerances between them are tighter than anything a brake caliper needs. One spindle, one part and one set of offsets is the simple way to hold them.
The 4th axis clears Ø 725 x 830 mm, and SW lists loading and unloading in parallel to machining time among the features. The energy-per-part claim SW makes for its multi-spindle machines is absent from this page, as you would expect. Magazine size and accuracy figures are not in the table and should be requested.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Single spindle with linear drive technology, positioned by SW for highest precision requirements
- 600 x 650 x 500 mm work space with a Ø 725 x 830 mm interference circle
- HSK-A80 spindle option with 42 kW and 200 Nm
- HSK-A63 spindle option to 17,500 rpm with 35 kW
- Loading and unloading in parallel to machining time on SW's feature list
Limitations
- One spindle means one part per cycle, with none of the multi-spindle output of SW's other machines
- No HSK-A100 spindle; the larger BA one8 lists one
- The 200 Nm spindle is limited to 12,500 rpm
- SW's table states no positioning accuracy, despite the precision claim

Frequently Asked Questions
01
For parts where precision outweighs output. SW's feature list for the BA one6 reads for highest precision machining requirements, and the only workpiece named is the gearbox housing. Multi-spindle capability is not listed for this model.
02
An HSK-A63 spindle with a 1-17,500 rpm range, 35 kW and 80 Nm, or an HSK-A80 spindle with a 1-12,500 rpm range, 42 kW and 200 Nm.
03
600 mm (23.6 in) in X, 650 mm (25.6 in) in Y and 500 mm (19.7 in) in Z. Fixture and part rotate inside a 4th-axis interference circle of Ø 725 x 830 mm.
04
The BA one8 is the larger of the two: 800 mm (31.5 in) of X, 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of Y and 650 mm (25.6 in) of Z, with an HSK-A100 option. The BA one6 offers 600 mm (23.6 in), 650 mm (25.6 in) and 500 mm (19.7 in), with HSK-A63 or HSK-A80.
