SCM Accord 600 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the SCM Accord 600 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from SCM or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The SCM Accord 600 is a CNC machining center for doors, windows, stairs and other solid wood parts whose work unit is made of three independent units. Two of them are routing units, one with a 5-axis electrospindle of up to 13.5 kW (18.4 hp) and one with a 3- or 4-axis electrospindle of up to 21 kW (28.5 hp). Each has its own on-board tool changer, which the table lists as VELOCE with 12+12 positions.

That pairing is the point of the machine. While one spindle cuts, the other fetches its next tool, so tool changes happen in hidden time instead of stopping the cycle. Profiling work that alternates between a heavy cutter and a 5-axis finishing tool gains the most. A part programme that runs on a single tool gains nothing from the second unit.

The frame comes in six working areas, from 3715 x 1600 x 300 mm to 6715 x 1900 x 300 mm, and the X-Y-Z axes are listed at 90-80-45 m/min. Beyond the on-board changers SCM lists a TRB side changer with 11 positions, a CADDY side changer with 35 positions, a RAPID rear changer with 16 positions and a QUADRO rear changer with 35 positions. The third unit of the head is the drilling unit, with up to 26 vertical and horizontal spindles at 8000 rpm.

Compared with the Accord 500, this model gives up 5-axis power, since the Accord 500 is listed at 20 kW (27 hp) max. on that spindle, and gains the second independent routing unit.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Two independent routing units, 5-axis and 3- or 4-axis, each with its own on-board tool changer
  • Rear routing electrospindle of up to 21 kW (28.5 hp) at 24000 rpm for heavy profiling
  • VELOCE on-board changer listed with 12+12 positions, one set per routing unit
  • Six working areas up to 6715 x 1900 x 300 mm with X-Y-Z speeds of 90-80-45 m/min

Limitations

  • 5-axis electrospindle tops out at 13.5 kW (18.4 hp), below the 20 kW (27 hp) max. of the Accord 500
  • Z is 300 mm (11.8 in) in all six working areas
  • Drilling unit is limited to 26 spindles, against up to 31 (vertical and horizontal) on the Accord 500
  • The second routing unit only shortens cycles on parts that alternate between tools
06

Best For

Window and door components that alternate between profiling and 5-axis cuts Stair parts and solid wood elements up to 6,715 mm (264.4 in) long Mixed solid wood and furniture production where tool-change time dominates the cycle

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What does "tool changes in hidden time" mean on the Accord 600?

The head has two independent routing units, with 4- and 5-axis electrospindles, and each has its own on-board tool changer. One unit can change its tool while the other is cutting, so the change does not add to the cycle. SCM lists the VELOCE on-board changer with 12+12 positions.

02 How powerful are the Accord 600 spindles?

The 5-axis electrospindle is listed at up to 13.5 kW (18.4 hp) and the 3- or 4-axis electrospindle at up to 21 kW (28.5 hp). Both have a maximum rotation speed of 24000 rpm.

03 How does the Accord 600 differ from the Accord 500?

Both share the same six working areas and the same TRB, CADDY, RAPID and QUADRO changers. The Accord 600 has two independent routing units with a 12+12 position on-board changer and a 5-axis spindle of up to 13.5 kW (18.4 hp). The Accord 500 is listed with a 5-axis spindle of 20 kW (27 hp) max.

04 What drilling capacity does the Accord 600 have?

The drilling unit is listed with up to 26 vertical and horizontal spindles and a maximum rotation speed of 8000 rpm. It is one of the three independent units that make up the work unit, next to the two routing units.
