How much does the Onsrud 192GW8 5-Axis cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Onsrud 192GW8 5-Axis that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Sixteen feet by eight with a 40 in (1,016 mm) Z-stroke: the Onsrud 192GW8 5-Axis is the longer of the two eight-foot-wide machines in the deepest block of Onsrud's 5-axis table. Its table is 192 in (4,877 mm) by 96 in (2,439 mm).
It can be read two ways. As one envelope, it takes a single deep part up to about fourteen feet, such as a hull plug for a dinghy or a rigid inflatable, a spa or bath mould, or a large body pattern. As two envelopes, it is a pair of eight-foot-square stations. The 5 vacuum zones allow the bed to be divided, and Onsrud's pendulum method lets one station be loaded while the other is cut. For deep moulds with long cycle times, that keeps the spindle working through set-up.
The frame is 323 in (8,205 mm) long, 172 in (4,369 mm) wide and 167 in (4,242 mm) high. Its 28 in counterpart is the 216GW8 5-Axis, which has two more feet of table and stands lower at 155 in (3,937 mm).
Spindle power is 18 hp (13.4 kW) as standard with 24,000 rpm and 12 tools. Onsrud offers 33 hp (24.6 kW) for heavier cutting. The series is built on one-piece steel columns with a helical rack and dual drives, and it is operated from a FANUC interface or the maker's touchscreen.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 192 in (4,877 mm) by 96 in (2,439 mm) table with a 40 in (1,016 mm) Z-stroke
- Works as one long envelope or two square stations
- 5 vacuum zones as standard
- Pendulum loading keeps the spindle cutting during set-up
Limitations
- Machine height of 167 in (4,242 mm)
- Two feet less table than the 28 in 216GW8 5-Axis
- Frame of 323 in (8,205 mm) by 172 in (4,369 mm)

Frequently Asked Questions
01
192 in (4,877 mm) in X by 96 in (2,439 mm) in Y, with 5 vacuum zones as standard. The Z-stroke is 40 in (1,016 mm).
02
Yes. Onsrud describes pendulum processing for the G-Series: with two zones, material is loaded in one while the gantry machines in the other. The 192 in (4,877 mm) table divides into two eight-foot halves.
03
323 in (8,205 mm) long, 172 in (4,369 mm) wide and 167 in (4,242 mm) high. Those figures match the 3-axis 216GW8 in Onsrud's tables, although the 5-axis table is shorter.
04
Length. The 96GW8 5-Axis has a square table with 96 in (2,439 mm) of X in a frame 227 in (5,766 mm) long. The 192GW8 5-Axis doubles the table X to 192 in (4,877 mm) in a frame 323 in (8,205 mm) long. Width, height and stroke are the same.
