How much does the Salvagnini L3-40.G4 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Salvagnini L3-40.G4 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
For 4,064 x 1,524 mm (160.0 x 60.0 in) sheet, the Salvagnini L3-40.G4 is the longer of the two gantry lasers in the L3.G4 range. It shares every other row with the L3-30.G4, which has a 3,048 x 1,524 mm working range.
A buyer choosing a four-metre Salvagnini laser has two candidates, and they differ in more than name. The L3-4020 is wider, with a 4,064 x 2,032 mm working range, and is listed at 156 m/min. The L3-40.G4 is narrower but quicker and more precisely specified: 170 m/min maximum XY speed, a 160 mm (6.3 in) Z axis stroke, and accuracy rows that carry a unit, 0.05 mm for Pa and 0.03 mm for Ps. Sheet width should settle it. If nothing wider than 1,524 mm goes on the table, the gantry machine gives the higher figures.
Running costs get attention in Salvagnini's description. The ACUT option cuts sheets up to 20 mm thick with compressed air, with productivity it describes as similar to nitrogen. The patented AVC technology generates vacuum for the automation only when needed, to limit compressed-air consumption. The 8000 WE high efficiency source is listed at 28 kW maximum absorbed power and 16 kW average, the same as 6000 W, while reaching 25 mm (0.98 in) in steel, stainless steel and aluminum.
Loading can start with the CPE pallet changer, where raw material always enters above the outgoing cut sheet. The ADC, ADLU and ADLL devices automate loading and unloading, and the LTWS store-towers work unmanned with cycle times of up to 50 seconds.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Start with sheet width. The L3-4020 has a 4,064 x 2,032 mm working range and a 156 m/min maximum XY speed. The L3-40.G4 is limited to 4,064 x 1,524 mm (160.0 x 60.0 in) but is listed at 170 m/min, with a 160 mm (6.3 in) Z axis stroke and a 0.05 mm Pa figure. The source list and thickness limits are the same on both.
02
ACUT allows cutting with compressed air, if suitably treated. Salvagnini states it enables cutting sheets up to 20 mm thick, with productivity similar to cutting with nitrogen. The machine is natively set up for nitrogen and oxygen, so ACUT has to be ordered.
03
Average absorbed power is 12 kW with 3000 W, 13 kW with 4000 W, 16 kW with 6000 W and 8000 WE, 20 kW with 8000 W and 24 kW with 10000 W. Maximum absorbed power runs from 18 kW to 42 kW. Salvagnini calculates both on the standard system configuration.
04
The CPE pallet changer covers manual loading and unloading. The ADB connection picks sheet from a pack, the ADC, ADLU and ADLL devices automate loading and unloading, and the LTWS and LTWS Compact store-towers add storage with cycle times of up to 50 seconds. TN and MCU handle sorting.
