Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Salvagnini L3-30.G4 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Salvagnini L3-30.G4 is a gantry fiber laser for 3,048 x 1,524 mm (120.0 x 60.0 in) sheet. The G4 is not a facelift of the L3: Salvagnini says it changes the architecture of its laser systems, replacing the beam layout with a high-accessibility gantry that keeps the whole working range within reach.
Three rows of the table show what the gantry brings. Maximum XY speed is 170 m/min. Position accuracy Pa is 0.05 mm with an average position range Ps of 0.03 mm, both to VDI3441 on maximum axis lengths. Z axis stroke is 160 mm (6.3 in). On a standard-format bed these figures favour nests of small parts with many direction changes, where the head rarely reaches full speed and positioning error shows up in every hole.
Source options run from 3000 W to 10000 W, with an 8000 WE high efficiency version. The thickness table reads 25 mm (0.98 in) in steel from 6000 W, 30 mm (1.18 in) in stainless steel and aluminum with 10000 W, and 10 mm (0.39 in) in copper and brass from 8000 WE. Salvagnini states that some of the sources exceed 50% efficiency. Average absorbed power is 12 kW with 3000 W and 24 kW with 10000 W.
The head is Salvagnini's own single optic with DRY-COOLING, and its process sensors adapt piercing in real time, stop on a cutting loss and restart with corrected parameters. A multisheet feature lets the operator place more than one sheet format on the worktable and assign programs by drag and drop. For 4,064 mm sheet the L3-40.G4 is the longer size.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
It marks the gantry generation of the L3. Salvagnini describes it as an original high-accessibility gantry solution that changes the architecture of its laser systems, giving full accessibility to the working range together with high rigidity.
02
Position accuracy Pa is 0.05 mm and average position range Ps is 0.03 mm. Salvagnini calculates both according to VDI3441 on maximum axis lengths, which on this size means over a 3,048 x 1,524 mm working range.
03
Maximum XY speed is 170 m/min. Two cutting functions sit on top of that: Standard, which Salvagnini says guarantees greater safety in unmanned manufacturing, and PowerCut, which gives increased reactivity and operational speed.
04
Steel to 25 mm (0.98 in) from 6000 W, stainless steel and aluminum to 30 mm (1.18 in) with 10000 W, and copper and brass to 10 mm (0.39 in) from 8000 WE. With the smallest 3000 W source the limits are 20 mm (0.79 in) in steel and 12 mm (0.47 in) in stainless steel. Minimum thickness is 0.5 mm (0.02 in).
