Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Salvagnini S4-30 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Salvagnini S4-30 is a punching-shearing center for sheet up to 3,048 x 1,650 mm (120.0 x 65.0 in). Loading, punching, forming, separation and unloading run automatically in one system, and parts leave it cut to size by an integrated shear, not nibbled out or left in a skeleton.
Two components define it. The multi-press head has a die structure housing up to 117 thick turret tools in stations B, C and D, all available over the area of the largest sheet. Station D has a maximum force of 30 tons. Next to the head sits the shear: two 500 mm blades, independent and at right angles to each other, with blankholders, able to cut any length in X or Y, simultaneously or independently.
The manipulator moves the sheet at up to 132 m/min in X and 117 m/min in Y, or 176 m/min with both axes moving together. Acceleration is 30 m/s2 in X and 17 m/s2 in Y. Salvagnini says the manipulator adapts its dynamics to the size and weight of the sheet.
Punching and shearing do not share the same thickness limits, and the gap matters when a job is quoted. Punching reaches 5.0 mm (0.20 in) in aluminum and 4.0 mm (0.16 in) in steel and stainless steel, without multitool. Shearing reaches 5.0 mm in aluminum, 3.5 mm (0.14 in) in steel and only 2.0 mm (0.08 in) in stainless steel. A stainless part can therefore be punched at a thickness the shear cannot separate. Minimum thickness is 0.5 mm (0.02 in), and the smallest sheet is 600 x 400 mm (23.6 x 15.7 in). The S4-40 is the longer model.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Up to 117 thick turret tools in stations B, C and D, all available on the area of the largest sheet
- Integrated shear with two independent 500 mm blades cuts any length in X and Y
- Sheet speed of 176 m/min with both axes moving simultaneously
- Station D punches with a maximum force of 30 tons
- Hybrid actuator modulates consumption according to the machining, the material and the required force
Limitations
- Shearing in stainless steel is limited to 2.0 mm (0.08 in), half the 4.0 mm (0.16 in) punching limit
- The punching thickness limits apply without multitool
- Maximum sheet is 3,048 x 1,650 mm; longer sheet needs the S4-40
- The electrical tapping unit is optional

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Maximum sheet dimensions are 3,048 x 1,650 mm (120.0 x 65.0 in), with a maximum sheet diagonal of 3,650 mm (143.7 in). The minimum sheet is 600 x 400 mm (23.6 x 15.7 in).
02
Punching: 5.0 mm (0.20 in) in aluminum and 4.0 mm (0.16 in) in steel and stainless steel, without multitool. Shearing: 5.0 mm in aluminum, 3.5 mm (0.14 in) in steel and 2.0 mm (0.08 in) in stainless steel. The minimum is 0.5 mm (0.02 in) for both.
03
It is composed of two 500 mm blades that are independent and orthogonal to each other, with blankholders, and it cuts any length. The shear records the clearance automatically and modulates the required force in-cycle depending on thickness and material.
04
Maximum speed is 132 m/min on the X axis and 117 m/min on the Y axis, and 176 m/min with both axes moving simultaneously. Maximum acceleration is 30 m/s2 on X and 17 m/s2 on Y.
