Overview

The Haas EC-630 is a 50-taper horizontal machining center with two 24.8 in (630 mm) pallets and 40 × 37 × 40 in (1,016 × 940 × 1,016 mm) of travel. Each pallet carries 1,500 lb (680 kg) and clears a part 39.4 in (1,000 mm) in diameter and 39.4 in tall, a one-metre cylinder.

That envelope is what separates it from the EC-500/50, which pairs the same spindle figures with 19.69 in (500 mm) pallets limited to 880 lb (400 kg). On the EC-630 the Y travel of 37 in (940 mm) comes close to the full part height, so most of a tall tombstone is within reach of the spindle.
