How much does the OPS Ingersoll EAGLE G5 Precision cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the OPS Ingersoll EAGLE G5 Precision that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The OPS Ingersoll EAGLE G5 Precision is a fully enclosed, gantry-type die-sinking EDM machine with 525 / 400 / 450 mm (20.7 / 15.7 / 17.7 in) of X/Y/Z travel and an integrated C-axis. It shares its envelope with the GANTRY EAGLE 500, which lists the same 525 mm (20.7 in) of X and the same 750 x 650 mm (29.5 x 25.6 in) table. What sets it apart is everything around that envelope: the closed housing, active temperature control and the EAGLE PowerSPARK One control.
The maker builds its accuracy claim on thermal behaviour. The brochure quotes a machine temperature range of less than 3 °C between standstill and heavy-duty machining, and a part accuracy below 5 µm in an ideal environment, which it defines as ambient changes under 2 °C in 24 hours. Read that condition carefully. A shop floor that swings more than that through a shift will not see the headline figure, although the encapsulation is said to slow the machine's reaction to outside temperature.
The work tank measures 770 x 670 x 440 mm (30.3 x 26.4 x 17.3 in) inside and travels filled, with a programmable dielectric level up to 375 mm (14.8 in). The table takes 1,000 kg (2,205 lb) and the head 100 kg (220 lb). Electrodes up to 15 kg (33 lb) go through the automatic changer, a pick-up rotary disc with 20 positions, while manual changes are allowed up to 50 kg (110 lb). Both weights are maximum values that depend on the clamping system.
Axis rapids are 5,000 mm/min, but the Z-axis Power Jump reaches 18,000 mm/min for flushing deep cavities. Power Jump Plus on X and Y is an option. The generator is an adaptive-current type rated 60 A, with 110 A optional. Installation figures are complete in the table: 5,350 kg (11,795 lb) for the machine, 640 kg (1,411 lb) for the generator cabinet, 16 kVA at 400 V / 50 Hz with 32 A fusing, and a height of 2,674 mm (105.3 in).

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Fully closed design with active temperature control; the brochure quotes part accuracy below 5 µm in an ideal environment
- Z-axis Power Jump of 18,000 mm/min, with Power Jump Plus on X and Y at 5,000 mm/min available as an option
- Rise-and-fall tank of 770 x 670 x 440 mm (30.3 x 26.4 x 17.3 in) that moves while filled, with a programmable level up to 375 mm (14.8 in)
- Rotary-disc electrode changer with 20 positions, handling electrodes up to 15 kg (33 lb) each and 60 kg (132 lb) in total
- The maker states more than 50% less wear during finishing and matt-glossy graphite surfaces up to VDI 8 with the PowerSPARK generator
Limitations
- The 5 µm figure is tied to an environment that changes less than 2 °C in 24 hours; outside that, the maker only promises a smaller deviation than a standard machine
- Travel is 525 / 400 / 450 mm (20.7 / 15.7 / 17.7 in), so moulds beyond the 750 x 650 mm (29.5 x 25.6 in) table belong on a larger frame
- Head load is limited to 100 kg (220 lb) and automatic changes to 15 kg (33 lb) per electrode
- The 110 A generator, the larger electrode changer and Power Jump Plus are options, not part of the listed base machine

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The brochure states a part accuracy below 5 µm in an ideal environment, defined as surrounding temperature changes of less than 2 °C in 24 hours. It also gives a machine temperature range of less than 3 °C between non-operating time and heavy-duty machining. These are the maker's statements, not table rows; the spec table itself lists a C-axis angle positioning of 0.001° and no linear accuracy figure.
02
The table surface is 750 x 650 mm (29.5 x 25.6 in) and carries 1,000 kg (2,205 lb). The tank's clear dimensions are 770 x 670 x 440 mm (30.3 x 26.4 x 17.3 in), and the dielectric level can be programmed up to 375 mm (14.8 in). The distance from the electrode chuck to the table runs from 135 mm (5.3 in) to 585 mm (23.0 in), a maximum that can be lower depending on the clamping system.
03
Both list 525 / 400 / 450 mm of travel and a 1,000 kg (2,205 lb) table load. The GANTRY EAGLE 500 is listed with the EAGLE PowerTEC fine finish generator PT60 and a PC-NC-dialog control. The EAGLE G5 Precision has the EAGLE PowerSPARK One control and, per the product page, a precision package with head cooling, spindle nut cooling and work tank temperature control as standard, inside a fully closed housing.
04
A pick-up rotary disc with 20 positions; a version with 30 positions is an option. A single electrode may weigh up to 15 kg (33 lb) for automatic changing and the magazine load totals 60 kg (132 lb), both maximum values. For larger numbers the brochure shows the machine with a MultiChange handling system for up to 232 electrodes and 10 workpiece pallets.
05
The machine weighs 5,350 kg (11,795 lb) and the generator 640 kg (1,411 lb). Power input is 16 kVA at 400 V / 50 Hz with 32 A fuse protection. Machine height is 2,674 mm (105.3 in). The dielectric system holds 400 l in total and filters through an integrated 16 m² cartridge filter; a 3.9 kW chiller is listed among the features.
