How much does the Niigata N700 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Niigata N700 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Niigata N700 is the largest N series horizontal machining center, built around a 630 mm × 630 mm pallet that carries 1,200 kg (2,646 lb). Its travels are 1,000 mm (39.4 in) in X, 950 mm (37.4 in) in Y and 1,050 mm (41.3 in) in Z, and it accepts a workpiece of φ1,100 mm × 1,200 mm.
Moving a table of that size quickly is the design problem, and Niigata's answer is the BOX in BOX structure. The column is fixed. Guide spacing is wide, the moving mass is kept light, and all of X, Y and Z run on high-rigidity roller guides. The result in the table is 60 / 60 / 60 m/min, the same rapid rate as the much smaller N500. Niigata adds that the fixed column allows stable cutting even at the top of the Y axis, which matters more here than on the smaller models because Y reaches 950 mm.
The spindle is shared with the N600: BBT50 (BIG-PLUS), 12,000 min-1 and 623 N·m (460 lb-ft). It is a fast 50-taper spindle. Buyers who need far more torque at low speed should compare the HN63E, whose 6,000 min-1 spindle is rated at 901 N·m on the same pallet size but with 30 m/min rapids.
Tool handling suits the size of the machine. The cam-driven ATC is quoted at 1.9 s with a 10 kg tool, 2.5 s at 20 kg and 3.1 s at 30 kg, and the chain magazine at 60 / 126 tools. Indexing is 0.001°. For chips, Niigata offers a hinge pan conveyor or a double decker unit with drum filter and scraper, both discharging to the side.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 630 mm × 630 mm pallet with 1,200 kg (2,646 lb) and a φ1,100 mm × 1,200 mm workpiece
- 60 / 60 / 60 m/min rapids despite 1,000 mm, 950 mm and 1,050 mm of travel
- BBT50 (BIG-PLUS) spindle: 12,000 min-1 and 623 N·m (460 lb-ft)
- Fixed column and wide guide space for stable cutting at the top of the Y stroke
- ATC times quoted for tools of 10 kg, 20 kg and 30 kg
Limitations
- 623 N·m is well below the 901 N·m of the HN63E, which shares the pallet size
- Pallet load is 1,200 kg with no heavier option shown; the HN63E lists a 1,500 kg option
- Only the chain magazine of 60 / 126 tools is listed, with no larger matrix magazine in the table

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The pallet measures 630 mm × 630 mm and is rated for 1,200 kg (2,646 lb). The largest workpiece is φ1,100 mm in swing and 1,200 mm high. Travels are 1,000 mm in X, 950 mm in Y and 1,050 mm in Z.
02
Rapid traverse is 60 m/min on each of X, Y and Z. Niigata attributes this to the BOX in BOX structure, which reduces the weight of the moving parts, and to high-rigidity roller guides on all three axes.
03
A BBT50 (BIG-PLUS) spindle with a top speed of 12,000 min-1 and a maximum torque of 623 N·m (460 lb-ft). The spindle and its motor are separate units joined by a coupling of low thermal conductivity material. No alternative spindle appears in the table.

They share a 630 mm × 630 mm pallet and a 1,200 kg load but are built for different work. The N700 is the fast machine: 60 m/min rapids and 12,000 min-1. The HN63E is the heavy cutter: 901 N·m at up to 6,000 min-1, box slides and 30 m/min rapids. The N700 also has more travel on every axis.
