Kiwa Triple H40 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Kiwa Triple H40 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Kiwa or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Kiwa Triple H40 is a horizontal-spindle machining center with a single table and no pallet changer in its table of figures. In the standard stroke it has an 820 x 450 mm (32.3 x 17.7 in) table, 510 mm (20.1 in) of X and Y travel, 400 mm (15.7 in) of Z and a BT40 spindle that runs to 8,000 min-1.

The X axis is the part of the machine that scales. Kiwa lists 700 mm, 1,000 mm and 1,500 mm strokes as options above the standard 510 mm (20.1 in), while Y and Z are given as single values. The table size, the 790 mm (31.1 in) maximum workpiece height and the 1,400 mm (55.1 in) machine width are all stated for the standard stroke, so a longer machine has its own table and width figures to request.

A long table under a horizontal spindle suits bar-shaped and plate-shaped work stood on edge: side drilling and milling of extrusions, rails and manifolds, or several small parts clamped in a line. Chips drop away from a vertical work face. The listed rows include neither a B axis nor a second pallet, so plan around one face per clamping and around loading at the table while the spindle waits.

The standard spindle speed of 8,000 min-1 is lower than the 12,000 min-1 the KH-4100kai starts at, and here 12,000 min-1 is the option. The taper is BT40 with CAT40 and HSK-A63 as alternatives. The magazine starts at 20 tools and can be ordered with 40, 60 or 80. Rapid traverse is 60,000 mm/min (2,362 ipm), and the control is the FANUC 0i-MF Plus.

The listed figures include no depth or overall floor space. Get the layout drawing for the stroke you intend to order.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Single 820 x 450 mm (32.3 x 17.7 in) table in the standard stroke, loaded directly with no pallet change in the cycle
  • X travel options of 700 mm, 1,000 mm and 1,500 mm above the standard 510 mm (20.1 in)
  • 1,400 mm (55.1 in) machine width in the standard stroke
  • Magazine options of 40, 60 and 80 tools above the standard 20
  • BT40 as standard, with CAT40 and HSK-A63 listed as taper options
  • Takes workpieces up to 790 mm (31.1 in) high in the standard stroke

Limitations

  • Z travel is 400 mm (15.7 in), which limits the combined depth of part, fixture and tool
  • The standard spindle stops at 8,000 min-1, and 12,000 min-1 is an option
  • The standard magazine holds 20 tools; 40, 60 and 80 are options
  • A single table means loading happens with the spindle idle, where the KH-4100kai has two 400 x 400 mm (15.7 x 15.7 in) pallets
  • Rapid traverse is 60,000 mm/min (2,362 ipm), below the 80,000 mm/min (3,150 ipm) of the KH-4100kai

Best For

Long, narrow parts worked from the side, with optional X strokes up to 1,500 mm Side drilling, tapping and milling of extrusions, rails and manifolds Rows of small parts clamped along an 820 x 450 mm (32.3 x 17.7 in) table Shops short on frontage: 1,400 mm (55.1 in) wide in the standard stroke Horizontal-spindle work that does not need a pallet changer

Frequently Asked Questions

01 Does the Kiwa Triple H40 have a pallet changer?

No pallet changer appears in Kiwa's figures for it. The pallet row reads single, and the work surface is given as a table of 820 x 450 mm (32.3 x 17.7 in) in the standard stroke. Parts are therefore loaded at the table between cycles. For a two-pallet machine with the same 510 mm (20.1 in) X and Y travel, Kiwa lists the KH-4100kai.

02 What X travel options does the Triple H40 offer?

The standard X travel is 510 mm (20.1 in), and Kiwa lists 700 mm, 1,000 mm and 1,500 mm as options. Y travel is 510 mm (20.1 in) and Z travel is 400 mm (15.7 in). The table size, workpiece height and machine width in the table apply to the standard stroke only.

03 What spindle speeds and tapers are listed for the Triple H40?

The standard spindle reaches 8,000 min-1 and a 12,000 min-1 spindle is optional. The standard taper is BT40, with CAT40 and HSK-A63 as options. The table does not state the drive type or the power of either spindle, so ask for those before choosing.

04 How many tools does the Triple H40 carry?

The standard magazine holds 20 tools. Kiwa lists 40, 60 and 80 tool magazines as options. With a single table the tool list is set by whatever is clamped on it, and a line of different parts along an 820 mm table can call for more than the standard magazine holds, so count the tools per setup before choosing.

05 How does the Triple H40 differ from the KH-4100kai?

The layout. The Triple H40 has a single 820 x 450 mm (32.3 x 17.7 in) table and optional X strokes up to 1,500 mm. The KH-4100kai has two 400 x 400 mm (15.7 x 15.7 in) pallets and 510 mm of travel on every axis. The KH-4100kai also starts at 12,000 min-1 and 40 tools, against 8,000 min-1 and 20 tools here. Rapid traverse is 80,000 mm/min (3,150 ipm) on the KH-4100kai and 60,000 mm/min (2,362 ipm) on the Triple H40.
