Monforts RNC 600 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Monforts RNC 600 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Monforts or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Monforts RNC 600 keeps the 1,000 mm (39.4 in) turning length of the RNC 500 and adds room around the part. Swing over the bed is 640 mm (25.2 in) and swing over the cross slide 505 mm (19.9 in). The RNC 500 clears 425 mm (16.7 in) over the cross slide, so the step up is for discs, flanges and housings rather than longer shafts.

It is a simpler family than its smaller siblings. Monforts lists the RNC 600 as SingleTurn or MultiTurn with driven tools; the table shows no DuoTurn counter spindle and no Y-axis for this size.

What it offers instead is a heavier spindle option. The standard nose is A8 with a draw tube of 86 mm (3.4 in) inside diameter, and an A11 nose and a 90 mm (3.5 in) draw tube are optional versions. With Fanuc, the table also lists an optional version limited to 2,000 rpm in place of the standard 4,000 rpm, the kind of trade a buyer makes for large-diameter work where surface speed comes from the diameter and not from rpm.

Drive ratings match the RNC 500: 28 kW (37.5 hp) at 100% ED with Siemens, 18.5 kW (24.8 hp) with Fanuc. The 12 x VDI 40 turret can be ordered with 12 driven tools at 12 kW (16.1 hp) on Siemens or 13.7 kW (18.4 hp) on Fanuc, 25% ED, turning at up to 4,000 rpm. Z runs on the hydrostatic guide that Monforts fits across the series, and the cross slide is weight-compensated on roller guides.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 505 mm (19.9 in) of swing over the cross slide, against 425 mm (16.7 in) on the RNC 500 with the same turning length
  • Optional A11 spindle nose and 90 mm (3.5 in) draw tube for larger chucks and stock
  • Siemens main drive of 28 kW (37.5 hp) at 100% ED
  • Optional driven tools at 13.7 kW (18.4 hp) with Fanuc or 12 kW (16.1 hp) with Siemens, 25% ED
  • Hydrostatic Z-axis guide and a weight-compensated cross slide on backlash-free roller guides

Limitations

  • No DuoTurn version: the table lists no counter spindle for the RNC 600
  • No Y-axis is listed for this model, although the RNC 500 and RNC 700 have one as an option
  • Turning length stays at 1,000 mm (39.4 in); the RNC 700 is the model with a 1,500 mm (59.1 in) bed
  • The Fanuc main drive is 18.5 kW (24.8 hp) at 100% ED

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the swing of the Monforts RNC 600?

Swing over the bed is 640 mm (25.2 in) and swing over the cross slide is 505 mm (19.9 in). The product page gives the same 505 mm as the turning diameter. Turning length is 1,000 mm (39.4 in).

02 Does the RNC 600 have a counter spindle or a Y-axis?

No. In the series table the DuoTurn rows and the Y-axis row are empty for the RNC 600, and Monforts lists the machine as SingleTurn or MultiTurn. A shop that needs a counter spindle at this turning length should look at the RNC 500, which is offered as a DuoTurn.

03 Which spindle options does the RNC 600 have?

Standard is an A8 nose to DIN 55026 with a draw tube of 86 mm (3.4 in) inside diameter and 4,000 rpm. An A11 nose and a 90 mm (3.5 in) draw tube are optional versions. With Fanuc the table also lists an optional version at 2,000 rpm.

04 How powerful are the driven tools?

Driven tools are an optional version on the 12 x VDI 40 turret. All 12 stations can be driven, at 12 kW (16.1 hp) with Siemens or 13.7 kW (18.4 hp) with Fanuc, both at 25% ED, and up to 4,000 rpm.
