Monforts Werkzeugmaschinen builds CNC lathes and turn-mill centres in Mönchengladbach, Germany. Its machines run the Z-axis on a hydrostatic guide, a design the company introduced in 1976, and the range covers the RNC, DNC and MNC slant-bed lathes, the UniCen turn-mill centre with B-axis and the KNC cycle-controlled lathes. The company dates its origin to 1884, when August Monforts founded a textile machinery factory, and its machine tool business to 1915.
