Overview
The Momentum MVL-15 is the tall member of the Ø1,600 mm (62.99 in) pair in the MVL range: a vertical turning lathe with a Ø1,450 mm (57.08 in) table and 1,325 mm (52.16 in) of turning height with the B79 holder. Table load is 8,000 kg (17,637 lb) and maximum table torque 19,000 Nm (14,014 lb-ft).
Its swing, load, torque and weight match the MVL-12HD figure for figure. The differences are the table and the vertical room. The MVL-12HD has a Ø1,250 mm (49.21 in) table and 1,145 mm (45.12 in) of turning height. On this machine the table is nearer the full swing, so big rings sit on the table instead of on jaw extensions, and tall housings and casings clear the ram. The distance from the table to the clamp pitch line is 1,500 mm (59.00 in).
Table speeds are listed as 0-103 rpm in low gear and 80-312 rpm in high gear, with the 55 / 45 kW (73.7 / 60.3 hp) main table motor. The top speed is a little under the 345 rpm of the MVL-12HD, a reasonable trade for the larger table.
