How much does the MCM TANK.G 1600 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the MCM TANK.G 1600 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The MCM TANK.G 1600 is the smallest machine of the TANK.G line, and its data sheet is a 5-axis sheet: the 4-Axes column of MCM's table is empty for this size. What is listed is a 5-Axes milling machine and a 5-Axes Multitasking machine, both with a tilting head, 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of X and 1,500 mm (59.1 in) of Y.
Z is where the two part ways. The milling version has 2,000 mm (78.7 in), the Multitasking version 1,960 mm (77.2 in). Either way the Z stroke is longer than the X stroke, an unusual proportion that suits work reached along the spindle axis. The TANK 1600 EVO shares the X figure, but its Z of 1,960 mm (77.2 in) is the longer of two alternatives rather than a fixed value.
MCM describes the TANK.G line as an extension of the TANK line with a wide choice of head configurations: horizontal, tilting, and driven by a double worm screw or by torque motors. On this model the table lists the tilting head only, with 175 degrees of travel (+80/-95).
Milling pallets are 1,000 x 1,000 mm (39.3 x 39.3 in) or 1,250 x 1,250 mm (49.2 x 49.2 in), and the B-axis turns at 20 min-1. The Multitasking version carries Ø 1,000 mm (Ø 39.3 in) or Ø 1,250 mm (Ø 49.2 in) pallets at up to 500 min-1. Rapid feed is 50 m/min (1,968.5 ipm).

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Z travel of 2,000 mm (78.7 in) on the 5-Axes version, longer than the 1,600 mm (63.0 in) X stroke
- Starts at a 1,000 x 1,000 mm (39.3 x 39.3 in) pallet and goes to 1,250 x 1,250 mm (49.2 x 49.2 in)
- Multitasking table turns at up to 500 min-1, the highest table speed listed in the TANK.G line
- Tilting head with 175 degrees of travel (+80/-95)
- MCM states the line is available with double worm screw or torque motor head transmission
Limitations
- No 4-Axes version is listed for this size; the TANK.G 2000 is the smallest TANK.G with one
- The milling version's B-axis is listed at 20 min-1, a positioning speed
- Multitasking Z is 1,960 mm (77.2 in), short of the 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of the milling version
- Pallet load, spindle power and torque are missing from the table

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Not according to MCM's table for this model: the 4-Axes column is printed with dashes in every row. The machine is listed as 5-Axes for milling and 5-Axes Multitasking for milling, turning and grinding. MCM's general text says TANK.G machines can be configured in 4 or 5 axis, so ask if a 4-axis build of this size matters to you.
02
X is 1,600 mm (63.0 in) and Y is 1,500 mm (59.1 in) in both versions. Z is 2,000 mm (78.7 in) on the 5-Axes version and 1,960 mm (77.2 in) on the 5-Axes Multitasking version. Rapid feed is 50 m/min (1,968.5 ipm) on X, Y and Z.
03
The TANK.G 2000 has 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of X, 1,700 mm (66.9 in) of Y on its 5-axis versions, a rapid feed of 45 m/min (1,771.7 ipm) and a Multitasking table speed of 200 min-1. This machine is shorter in X and Y but faster: 50 m/min (1,968.5 ipm) and 500 min-1. Pallet sizes are the same on both.
04
The table lists a Tilting Head as the fifth axis, with a tilting angle of 175 degrees, +80/-95. For the TANK.G line as a whole MCM mentions horizontal and tilting heads and transmission by double worm screw or torque motors; which of these apply to this size is not broken out on the page.
05
MCM prints "up to 80 (999)" for both versions. The row carries a footnote mark, but the note itself is not on the page, so confirm what the bracketed figure means. Tapers offered are HSK, ISO and CAPTO.
