How much does the Machitech Fiber Prime XL 10x40 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Machitech Fiber Prime XL 10x40 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
A 40 ft plate fits the Machitech Fiber Prime XL 10x40 in one piece: sheet length is 480 in (12,200 mm) at a width of 120 in (3,050 mm). It is the second of five XL sizes and the first that covers the long plate formats mills supply to heavy fabricators.
That makes it a direct alternative to a large plasma table. Machitech says as much about the bevel head, which it presents as a replacement for 5-axis plasma, cutting V, X, Y, K and custom angles in a single operation. With sources from 12 to 60 kW the thickness table reaches 4 in (100 mm) in mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum.
The bed can also be used in zones. Several shorter sheets are laid along the length, on a continuous or a separated bed, and the laser works on one while another is unloaded. An optional lights out mode is offered for unattended production. Used this way a long XL does the job shuttle tables do on smaller lasers.
Workpiece weight is 65,340 lbs (29,640 kg), given for a 4 in steel plate, and the machine itself weighs 46,300 lbs (20,900 kg). Width and height, 220 in (5,580 mm) and 100 in (2,550 mm), match the smallest XL; only the length changes, to 833 in (21,170 mm). Acceleration is 1 G and rapid speed 4,450 ipm (110 m/min). Gas mixing at the head and automatic focus compensation come with the Precitec head built for the Fiber PRIME series.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Sheet length is 480 in (12,200 mm) and sheet width 120 in (3,050 mm). The machine is 833 in (21,170 mm) long, 220 in (5,580 mm) wide and 100 in (2,550 mm) high.
02
Workpiece weight is 65,340 lbs (29,640 kg), which Machitech states for a 4 in steel plate. The machine weighs 46,300 lbs (20,900 kg), not including the sheet, laser source, chiller and dust collector.
03
Yes. Machitech describes processing multiple sheets on a continuous or separated bed for safety, with an optional lights out mode for uninterrupted production.
04
Acceleration is 1 G and rapid speed 4,450 ipm (110 m/min). The feature text gives linear axis speeds up to 110 m/min and acceleration between 0.8–1.1 G for the XL line.
