Overview
The Machitech Fiber Prime XL 10x24 is the entry size of Machitech's large-format laser. Sheet length is 323 in (8,200 mm) and sheet width 120 in (3,050 mm), and the laser source is 12 to 60 kW.
The XL is built differently from the shuttle-table lasers below it. A segmented bridge runs on rails over a cutting table that stands independently, so the weight of the plate never rests on the structure that guides the beam. That is why a machine weighing 30,865 lbs (13,900 kg) can work over a plate load of 39,240 lbs (17,800 kg), a figure Machitech gives for a 4 in steel plate.
In length this size is close to the Fiber Prime S 8x24, which takes 315 in (8,000 mm). The difference is width, 120 in (3,050 mm) against 98 in (2,500 mm), and the way of working: here plate is loaded onto a fixed bed, and several sheets can be processed on a continuous or separated bed.
