Overview
Four metres by two is the sheet format of the Yawei HLX-2040, the middle model of the HLX ultra-fast series. Its cutting range is 4,065 x 2,035 mm (160.0 x 80.1 in), served by strokes of 4,085 mm (160.8 in) and 2,055 mm (80.9 in).
The move from the HLX-1530 to this size is mostly about nesting. A larger sheet lets long parts and big nests run without a splice, and the worktable load rises to 1,800 kg (3,968 lb) from the 1,000 kg (2,205 lb) of the HLX-1530. Speed, power and accuracy stay put: 200 m/min, 6, 12 or 20 kW, and ±0.03 mm (±0.0012 in) positioning.
Z stroke is 300 mm (11.8 in), the same as on the small model, while the HLX-2560 lists 340 mm (13.4 in). The installed layout grows to 11,600 x 5,600 x 2,300 mm (456.7 x 220.5 x 90.6 in).
Yawei describes the HLX as a new generation of ultra-speed fiber laser and stresses complex profile cutting. The practical content of the description is in the software list: a job list function for queued programs, remote diagnosis, a health protection system and interconnection with the production management centre. No table type, cutting head or control is named, so an enquiry should ask for all three, and for the acceleration figure, which the published table does not print in a usable form.
