LVD Strippit V-L — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the LVD Strippit V-L that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from LVD or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

A 48-station thick turret and a 4-kW fiber laser share one frame on the LVD Strippit V-L. It is the turret-based machine in LVD's punch-laser line and the strongest, at 300 kN, which LVD describes as a 30-ton hydraulic punch press on a heavy-duty bridge frame.

Choosing between this and the single-head combination machines comes down to how the tooling is used. A turret keeps 48 tools in place and brings one under the ram quickly: tool change is listed at 0.9 - 2.1 sec., against 3 - 6.5 sec. on the Strippit PX-L. Four of the stations are 88.9 mm auto-index stations, and the mix accepts forming, embossing, louvering, wheel and tapping tools. For repeat work with a stable tool set, that is the faster arrangement. What the turret cannot offer is the single head's forming height: feed clearance here is 25 mm (1.0 in), where the Strippit PX-L has 80 mm.

The laser takes over wherever tooling would be slow or unavailable: odd-shaped holes, contours and etching. LVD states that a full-size 3050 x 1525 mm workpiece is cut and punched without repositioning, and a 406 mm x 1524 mm chute clears laser-cut parts and scrap. Punched parts use a 500 x 525 mm (19.7 x 20.7 in) work chute.

Punching figures are 910 HPM at 1 mm pitch, 440 HPM at 25.4 mm pitch and 1750 HPM in marking, at 128 m/min positioning speed, in material up to 6.35 mm (0.25 in). Hardened turret sleeves hold alignment and are replaceable. Average power consumption is 14.3 kW. As with the other combination machines, LVD's table says nothing about laser cutting thickness, so that needs to be confirmed against the work.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 300 kN turret punching and a 4-kW fiber laser in one machine
  • 48 thick-turret stations, four of them 88.9 mm auto-index stations
  • Tool change of 0.9 - 2.1 sec., faster than the single-head combination machines
  • Replaceable hardened turret sleeves keep punch and die aligned without re-machining the turret
  • 406 mm x 1524 mm chute for laser-cut parts and scrap

Limitations

  • Feed clearance is 25 mm (1.0 in), against 80 mm on the Strippit PX-L
  • Flexible Automation is not marked as available, although it is for the Strippit PX-L
  • No laser cutting thickness or speed is given in LVD's specification
  • 14.3 kW average power consumption

Frequently Asked Questions

01 Why choose the Strippit V-L over the Strippit PX-L?

For force and tool-change speed. The Strippit V-L punches with 300 kN from a 48-station thick turret and changes tools in 0.9 - 2.1 sec. The Strippit PX-L has 200 kN and a 3 - 6.5 sec. tool change, but offers 80 mm of feed clearance and full rotation of every tool. Laser, worksheet and table load are the same.

02 What is the worksheet size?

The specification lists a nominal worksheet of 3,050 x 1,550 mm (120.1 x 61.0 in). LVD's feature text refers to a full-size workpiece of 3050 x 1525 mm being cut and punched without repositioning. The brush table carries up to 150 kg (331 lb) at reduced speed, and three CNC relocatable clamps hold the sheet.

03 What does the laser add to a turret punch press?

Freedom of shape. The 4-kW fiber laser cuts unique shaped holes and contours and can etch material, so outlines and special openings no longer depend on having a tool. A dedicated 406 mm x 1524 mm chute removes laser-cut parts or scrap.

04 How is turret wear dealt with?

The turret is sleeved. Hardened sleeves in the stations keep punch and die aligned, and a worn sleeve is replaced on its own. LVD's stated benefit is that the turret does not need to be re-machined at any point in the life of the machine. Angular positioning accuracy is ± 0.05 degrees.

05 Which automation is available?

LVD marks automatic load/unload (PA), the Compact Tower (CT-P), bin sort and robot pick/sort as available, together with a lubrication system. The option list adds a brush table with roller balls, scrap conveyors, a sheet lubrication system and a robotic interface.
