Price estimate
We do not have a price for the LVD PPED 50/20 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Smallest of LVD's economy hydraulic press brakes, the LVD PPED 50/20 pairs 500 kN of pressing force with a 2,000 mm (78.7 in) working length and a main motor of only 4 kW.
The frame is narrower than the bed. Between the uprights there are 1,550 mm (61.0 in), so a part longer than that has to sit in the 200 mm (7.9 in) gap of the side frames. For brackets, covers and short panels this never comes up. For a two-metre flange deeper than the gap, it does.
Light ram, quick approach: 160 mm/s is the highest approach speed in the PPED table. Working speed is 9 mm/s and return 95 mm/s. LVD notes that in CE countries the machine comes with a safety system as standard and the working speed is held to the safety norm. Stroke is 200 mm (7.9 in) under a 500 mm (19.7 in) table-to-ram distance, the same daylight LVD gives the three- and four-metre models up to the PPED 200/40.
Buyers should know one limit before comparing versions. LVD offers the PPED as PPED-4, PPED-5 and PPED-7 with a 2-axis (X, R) or 4-axis (X, R, Z1, Z2) backgauge, and makes CNC crowning standard on the PPED-5 and PPED-7, but not on the 50 and 80 ton sizes. Over two metres at this force that is a small loss. The table is 140 mm (5.5 in) wide, working height 930 mm (36.6 in) and the oil tank holds 125 L.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 160 mm/s approach speed, the fastest in the PPED range
- 4 kW motor and 125 L oil tank keep the electrical and hydraulic installation small
- 500 mm (19.7 in) between table and ram on a 500 kN machine
- Welded one-piece frame, stress relieved and machined without repositioning
- Touch-B touch screen control with 2-axis or 4-axis backgauge
Limitations
- Only 1,550 mm (61.0 in) between uprights for a 2,000 mm bed
- Gap in the side frames is 200 mm (7.9 in)
- CNC crowning is not standard on the 50 ton size
- Working speed of 9 mm/s under load

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Parts up to 2,000 mm (78.7 in) long with up to 500 kN. Parts wider than the 1,550 mm (61.0 in) between the uprights can enter the side frames only as far as the 200 mm (7.9 in) gap. The table carries up to 1,000 kN/m.
02
LVD lists CNC crowning as standard on PPED-5 and PPED-7 models, with the note that this does not apply to the 50 and 80 ton models. A buyer who needs crowning on this size should raise it with LVD; the page does not offer it.
03
The PPED line has a programmable backgauge with either two axes (X, R) or four (X, R, Z1, Z2), depending on whether the machine is ordered as PPED-4, PPED-5 or PPED-7. LVD's page does not say which of these versions are sold in the 50/20 size.
04
The motor is rated at 4 kW, the lowest in the PPED table, and the hydraulic tank holds 125 L. LVD lists electrical equipment for 60 Hz or a special voltage as an option.
