Overview

The Litz VC-1000A is the one-metre machine of the VC series: 1,020 mm (40.2 in) of X travel, 560 mm (22.0 in) of Y, 600 mm (23.6 in) of Z and a table rated for 750 kg (1,653 lb). Spindle speed is 10,000 rpm, belt-driven, with BT-40 tooling.

On paper it overlaps with the DV-1000 from the same maker, which has identical travels and table. The differences are in the drive train and the control. The VC-1000A has an 11 / 15 kW (14.8 / 20.1 hp) spindle motor and 3 / 3 / 4 kW axis motors, and FANUC 0iMF-Plus is its standard control. It is also heavier, at 7,500 kg (16,534 lb).

How would a shop use that? A stronger spindle motor and bigger axis drives matter on long roughing passes across a 1,000 x 560 mm (39.4 x 22.0 in) table, where the cut is sustained and the table is carrying a plate or a mould base. With 120 to 720 mm (4.7 to 28.3 in) under the spindle nose, a rotary table with a tailstock also fits; the 4th axis is on the option list.

Tools may be 300 mm (11.8 in) long. The standard magazine is 24T, with a 32T arm type as an option. Coolant through the ballscrews, linear roller guideways and linear scales are optional on all three axes. The coolant tank holds 290 L and supply is 25 kVA.
