Litz TX-1000 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Litz TX-1000 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Litz or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Litz TX-1000 takes the tapping-center formula to a full metre of X travel: 1,000 mm (39.4 in) in X, 500 mm (19.7 in) in Y and 350 mm (13.8 in) in Z, with a 12,000 rpm BT-30 spindle and a 21-tool disc type magazine.

It is not just a stretched TX-700. Y grows by 100 mm, the table becomes 1,100 x 500 mm (43.3 x 19.7 in), load capacity rises to 350 kg (772 lb), and the cutting feed range extends to 30,000 mm/min where the TX-700 stops at 20,000 mm/min. The coolant tank is larger too, at 300 L. Rapids stay at 48 / 48 / 48 m/min (1,890 / 1,890 / 1,890 ipm).

Who needs a metre-long 30-taper machine? Shops machining laptop and tablet chassis, long extrusions, panel parts and lighting housings, where the features are small holes and shallow pockets spread over a large area. A larger-taper machine of this travel would be slower between features and no better in the cut on that kind of work.

Limits are those of the taper. The motor is 3.5 / 5.5 kW (4.7 / 7.4 hp), tools weigh at most 3 kg (7 lb), and Z travel is only 350 mm with 150 to 500 mm (5.9 to 19.7 in) under the spindle nose. Machine weight is 4,100 kg (9,039 lb) on a 15 kVA supply.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 1,000 x 500 mm of X and Y travel on a BT-30 machine
  • Cutting feed up to 30,000 mm/min, above the 20,000 mm/min of the TX-700
  • 48 / 48 / 48 m/min (1,890 / 1,890 / 1,890 ipm) rapids
  • 350 kg (772 lb) table load and a 300 L coolant tank

Limitations

  • Z travel of 350 mm (13.8 in)
  • 3.5 / 5.5 kW (4.7 / 7.4 hp) motor and 3 kg (7 lb) tool limit
  • 21 tools; the only other magazine listed is a smaller 16T
  • BT-30 tooling limits cutter diameter and stick-out
06

Best For

Large, thin aluminium parts with many small features Long extrusions and panels up to 1,000 mm High-speed drilling and tapping over a wide table

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What are the travels of the Litz TX-1000?

1,000 mm (39.4 in) in X, 500 mm (19.7 in) in Y and 350 mm (13.8 in) in Z. The table is 1,100 x 500 mm (43.3 x 19.7 in) and carries 350 kg (772 lb).

02 How fast is the TX-1000?

Rapid traverse is 48 m/min (1,890 ipm) on X, Y and Z, and cutting feed is programmable from 1 to 30,000 mm/min. The spindle runs at 12,000 rpm, with 24,000 rpm available as an option.

03 What tools does the TX-1000 accept?

BT-30 tools up to 250 mm (9.8 in) long and 3 kg (7 lb), 21 of them in a disc type magazine. Maximum tool diameter is listed as 60 / 80 mm (2.4 / 3.1 in).

04 Can a rotary axis be added to the TX-1000?

Yes. The option list includes a 4th axis rotating table and a DDR embedded motor 4th axis. Raised columns of 100 mm and 200 mm are also offered to gain clearance for such equipment.
