Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Litz LB-110 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Litz LB-110 is a table-type horizontal boring and milling machine with a 110 mm (4.3 in) boring spindle, a rotary table of 1,400 x 1,600 mm (55.1 x 63.0 in) and travels of 3,000 mm (118.1 in) in X, 2,100 mm (82.7 in) in Y and 1,500 mm (59.1 in) in Z.
A fourth linear axis, W, extends the spindle 500 mm (19.7 in) out of the headstock. That reach is the point of a boring mill: bores deep inside a housing or gearbox case can be cut without a long tool overhang. The table carries 8,000 kg (17,637 lb) and positions in 0.001° steps, so the sides of a casting are machined from one setup. Litz states a table clamping force of 13,500 kg (29,762 lb) for holding position under heavy cuts.
The spindle is geared. It tops out at 2,500 rpm with 22 / 26 kW (29.5 / 34.9 hp) and 1,274 / 1,500 Nm (940 / 1,106 lb-ft), on a BT No.50 taper. This is a torque machine for large cutters, boring bars and face mills in steel and cast iron; small tools in aluminium will run far below their best speed. Boxways on the three axes fit that purpose, and rapids are correspondingly slow at 10 m/min (394 ipm) in X, Y and Z and 4 m/min (157 ipm) in W.
A floor-type tool changer with 60 stations is standard, with 90 or 120 as options. Tools can weigh up to 25 kg (55 lb), and a change takes 16 s. Linear scales on the three axes and a rotary encoder on the B axis are in the standard list, as is the FANUC 0iMF control.
Installation needs planning. The outline is 6,900 x 6,900 x 4,100 mm, net weight is 28,000 kg (61,728 lb) and the supply is 55 kVA.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
X (worktable left/right) is 3,000 mm (118.1 in), Y (spindle up/down) 2,100 mm (82.7 in), Z (column front/back) 1,500 mm (59.1 in) and W (spindle extension) 500 mm (19.7 in). The table also rotates, with a positioning resolution of 0.001°.
02
A 110 mm (4.3 in) boring spindle with a BT No.50 taper, 2,500 rpm maximum speed, 22 / 26 kW (29.5 / 34.9 hp) output (continuous / 30 min) and 1,274 / 1,500 Nm (940 / 1,106 lb-ft) of torque. Spindle lubrication is by oil, and an oil cooler handles spindle cooling.
