Overview
The AWEA BL-2024S is a quill-type horizontal boring mill whose vertical travel is longer than its bed: Y measures 2,400 mm (94.5 in) and X measures 2,000 mm (78.7 in). Z is 1,300 mm (51.2 in). The boring spindle is a Ø120 mm quill with 600 mm (23.6 in) of W travel.
That proportion suits parts that stand upright. Think of a tall housing or column clamped on the 1,600 x 1,800 mm (63.0 x 70.9 in) rotary table and bored on each face in turn. The B-axis uses a closed loop rotary encoder with 0.001˚ indexing resolution, so opposite bores can be reached by turning the part instead of re-clamping it.
