Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Litz CV-800 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Litz CV-800 is a vertical machining center that Litz lists under Graphite Machine. Travels are 800 mm (31.5 in) in X, 450 mm (17.7 in) in Y and 540 mm (21.3 in) in Z, and the spindle runs at 10,000 rpm on BT-40 tooling.
Graphite is easy to cut and hard to live with. The dust is abrasive and conductive, so what defines a graphite machine is how it contains and removes that dust. The CV-800 standard list answers with a wet approach: coolant through the spindle, a worktable water chute, a worktable protective cover, bellows covers on the X and Y axes, an ATC cover, a tape filter system and an oil mist collector. Fully-covered sheet metal closes the work area.
The tool changer is a carousel-style tool bank with 16 tools, each up to 80 mm (3.1 in) in diameter, 200 mm (7.9 in) long and 6 kg (13 lb). An arm type ATC is an option. The spindle motor is 5.5 / 7.5 kW (7.5 / 10 HP), which is ample for electrode work, and Litz lists higher spindle speeds among the options.
Table load is 350 kg (772 lb). Rapids are 36 / 36 / 24 m/min (1,417 / 1,417 / 945 ipm), cutting feed reaches 10,000 mm/min, and the control is the Mitsubishi M70. The machine weighs 4,500 kg (9,921 lb) and needs 15 kVA. The maker's table does not give a usable table size for this model, so ask Litz for it.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Sealing and filtration for graphite as standard: tape filter system, oil mist collector, bellows covers and ATC cover
- Coolant through the spindle and spindle oil cooling system are standard
- 800 x 450 x 540 mm travels on a 4,500 kg (9,921 lb) machine
- 36 / 36 / 24 m/min (1,417 / 1,417 / 945 ipm) rapids
Limitations
- 16-tool carousel; the arm type ATC is an option
- 10,000 rpm standard speed is low for fine electrode detail
- Table load of 350 kg (772 lb)
- Table size is not usable as printed by the maker
