Overview
With 2,100 mm (82.7 in) of edge routing dimension in Y, the HOLZ-HER EPICON 7335 is the widest of the EPICON 5-axis machining centres. X comes in five lengths between 3,680 mm (144.9 in) and 7,280 mm (286.6 in), Z travel is 565 mm (22.2 in) and the machining height is 300 mm (11.8 in).
That Y figure is the reason to choose it over the EPICON 7235, which stops at 1,650 mm (65.0 in), or the EPICON 7135 at 1,500 mm (59.1 in). A full-width door blank, a wide worktop or two rows of smaller parts fit across the consoles without turning the work. HOLZ-HER says the gantry bridge and machine column were optimized by finite element methods, and lists the vector speed at 131 m/min.
The base cutter unit is the gimbal-mounted 13 kW (17.4 hp) 5-axis head: liquid-cooled, 1,000 to 24,000 rpm, +/- 360° on C and +/- 180° on A. An 18 kW (24.1 hp) PRO-TORQUE head is optional.
